my first Impression of ED on the PS4pro

I just wanted to give a source to my above statement. This was widely reported back when it was an issue. I think this particular issue has since been fixed, but perhaps this tearing is also a Pro-specific issue. I'm not going to personally stress out as a PS4 Slim owner until someone verifies this tearing also affects the base model PS4.

Should not be happening with new games, especially ones which are patched for PS4 Pro!

(Plus your source is old, most games are either fixed or options to work around, FF being the biggy I knew about).

I wouldn't worry too much at this stage, this is without the day one patch so could already be fixed.

I remember the Xbox One version having severe screen tearing several times back when it first came out. I've seen the technical improvements Fdev have made to the game on both Pc and Xbox and I have every confidence they will get this fixed ASAP if it isn't already.

Mark, totally agree. It will be nice if we can get some FDev input before launch, this has potential to hurt sales.

Now now, don't give yourself stroke, or you'll never make it out the mail slot.

And remember, we are seeing an exploit of sorts - the game was never meant to be played today. Those discs should have been delivered Tuesday and automatically downloaded the launch-day patch before being playable. It reminds me when Marvel released the first footage of Spiderman and everyone was all in a ruckus because they thought he looked too CG, but when the final version released, everyone was happy.

Now if you / we all have to deal with this after the official launch, then you may bury Lloyd in salt, pepper, and Mrs. Dash :)

It's not happening just on disk versions.

That has nothing to do with screen tearing. So no. you're not being fair you're shoveling into the forum. So stop it.

Well, glad you're the experienced guy here who knows how this stuff works...

But instead of telling someone to stop shovelling into the forum and leave it with that, you might want to try to explain where the screen tearing comes from, since you seem to know what is causing it. Then you can tell people to stop it.

Maybe the screen tearing will be fixed with the day 1 patch and I did see some when OP was headlooking but from what FD showed, it won't be a lazy port.

Oi, what's stressing me out right now is I'm seeing more and more reports of people getting their physical discs early and playing ED tutorials TODAY, while I have to wait another 2 days 13 hours 22 minutes and 45 seconds!!!!!

Not cool. [mad]

Hi everyone,

Just letting you know that I have seen this thread and will raise the concerns people have mentioned. Unfortunately I don't have any further information on this to give you right now.

Duck, hang in there. We need you to fly with us during launch. Play some Pioneer or Oolite to satiate your hunger

I have faith in you, Lloyd. Just flip the internal vsync switch and all will be well. Oh, and make sure the compiler is optimized for release, not debug ;)

Thanks Lloyd, bit disappointed this has not been spotted in the Play testing. Suggests this is not a day 1 fix?

They might need to re-look at the performance / quality options to do this, so might not be a simple fix. :)

Can't you see my blood pressure is already too high, LOL? I have to be Pollyanna about this screen tear, or I'll be the one with the stroke :p
