People don't play even sports for "the fun of it", but "to win". So, no, won't be happening![]()

Well, I suppose it depends on the type of sport - but most are by design such: win or lose.
Doesn't mean you can't have fun playing but loosing...
The game could in theory offer lots of fun with PvP, but as long as the PvP community is dominated by minmax fanatics it wont be. I often check the vids they post and its always just an incredibly, incredibly mindnumbingly boring thing with two ships lobbing stuff at each other for 20 minutes or endless attempts at ramming, with the fight only actually ending in a kill if both sides agree to not just fly away when things get iffy. ED doesnt lend itself as an 'esports' game, which is the mentality PvP players bring. A shame, really.
...Hi, I was one of those cmdrs (lets call me Y!)and I can only apologise for what happened but it was instancing issues, we had been having weird problems all night. At one point I had submitted to an interdiction from a griefer and started to engage him, then X dropped in, he could see me fine, he could see me flying defensively, shooting and my shields taking hit but could not see the other ship at all.
X even popped back in to the AD Discord channel to let you know that none of it was intentional and that he was killed by the other guy just after you left, I didn't even see you had dropped in to the instance in question at all!
So yeah very sorry about it all, you weren't set up and we both feel bad that you feel that way.
If you aren't already on the AD Slack channel, you can go to https://www.reddit.com/r/AislingDuval/ and follow the instructions on there to join, it is were most of us in Cubeo tend to hang out and chat.

Same approach I have had to dating.Nah, I prefer to bathe in the tears of my vanquished foes.
...
If this was any other game I would say you're lying...
But yea I know elite has some bad net code moments....
So sorry for my accusation... if it really was you...
Like I said I can't remember your names
I think it depends more on where you play.Well, I suppose it depends on the type of sport - but most are by design such: win or lose.
So I start taking evasive maneuvers. strafing and such. Thinking that X and Y would help
But no...
they didn't help... they didn't even shoot... and Z kept on focusing on me
I realized what was going on and just high waked out at 33% hull health
...

Highwaking from 1 v 1 is disrespectful, it will be held against you.
.
and here in underlines why PvP in ED is inherantly broken (imo)
escaping from a fight you are about to lose in a game where you role play flying your own space ship is the ONLY sensible thing to do.... and then it is your job to be properly equipped to scan the "cowards" wake and chase after them......
the fact that some "PvPers" may hold that against a player and may possibly even mean they are put on some KOS list is nonsense.
the tools are in the game to allow a "PvPer" to chase after a player who disengages... the fact that some choose to forgo the correct equipement so they can add a few more HP to their shields sums up the hypocrisy going on... how is demanding a ship sits in an instance to die any more outrageous than a "greedy" trader not using a decent shield but instead putting in an extra cargo rack.
its part of the exact same issue... the need to be the absolute best fighter / trader / what ever you can be even if it makes your build unworkable in other areas.
that anyone can slag off a player for flying without shields complaining about being blown up, and then moan that a player hiwakes from their guns when they did not bother to fit a wake scanner is such hypocrisy.
and then it is your job to be properly equipped to scan the "cowards" wake and chase after them......
Its not cheating, its just lame, similar as using heat canons before 2.4.
ED is little more than a multiplayer arcade game.
sure you can play it as an arcade arena shooter if you like but this is not how it is designed
