Newcomer / Intro My Return to ED ......

I'm surprised how much time he spends on how to pitch and roll in the video. It's so natural to me possibly because of flying an F-22 and an F-16 in simulated games, using a TM HOTAS. You had to be good or you were dead!
However, the hardest thing was landing the F-16. It is notorious for its delicate landing gear. Watching real pilots, flying real F-16's, putting them down on aircraft carriers, I find just amazing.

If you are not on Steam, what are you on? 😯
I bought and downloaded direct from Frontier which means I have an Elite Dangerous Launcher program on my PC to launch which game I want - "Old" Elite Dangerous or Elite Dangerous Horizons. Odyssey is a maybe later thing for me. My 16 year old son played Horizon's for a while through Steam.

Yes, I understand that. But I'm being dropped because I'm approaching too close to an object. I assume a very large object, not just a relatively small station.
It's most likely a planet. You can see them on your radar and plan accordingly. Assuming you understand the radar. :)

You're on Steam. It may take a while for the update to properly show up there. It's one of the reasons I stopped using Steam.

In any case, on a Patch day patience is always required. Stuff takes time to disseminate across the various servers and whatnot. The game also tends to be unstable for a while after they do a big patch. Just wait and let it settle for a bit.

PS mine is still downloading, even without Steam.
Right. No problem, as long as I know. And somebody else not using Steam. 😯 You mean there are alternatives? 😲

You mean there are alternatives?
Yeah, I bought direct from Frontier. No 3rd parties. Steam and Epic stores both like to lock you in to themselves, while at the same time causing more problems running the game (log in issues abound, and update issues are normal too).

I didn't believe that was possible. 😲 Does that mean you have ED installed on your computer? Like the old days, when you'd buy a game on a DVD and install it? No need for an internet connection ......

If you know how to record your gameplay and upload it to YouTube, then a video would help others see exactly what is happening.

How is it you get this and I don't ......... 😲
Right ....... so you check with them, rather than "them" telling you. OK. I'll do the same. Thanks.
Check your email settings on this forum to make sure you get Frontier updates. They always email you when there is news to be told or an update to be aware of.

No, the internet connection is still required. I just don't have to run Steam at all, just the ED Launcher.

How do I buy direct from Frontier? It looks like Quain has done the same as you ...... I'm sick of 3rd parties as you can tell ........ wonder what Crib3 is using ..... or Para?

Thanks. Let me first do a re-run of this mission. See if it happens again.

Yes, good idea. Thanks.
