Newcomer / Intro My Return to ED ......

My first home base was a long time ago when the game was different.

It was located in Ix because it was in Li Yong-Rui territory and had reasonable stock levels also it was fairly central so that going back to change ships wasn’t too much of a chore. This was of course before ship and module transfer was added.

Later after I had reached my first Elite (combat) I moved to Jameson Memorial and used the now existing transfer function to bring things over from Ix.

Now I don’t really bother, my fleet is scattered about where they were last used, as I am totally uninterested in playing with factions or politics or the Background Simulator all I have ever wanted a base for was someplace to park my existing ships and buy and fit out new ones.

My home base has always been Jameson Memorial*, at least I keep my ships & modules stored there even now.
Comes quite naturally, as it was my starting point, being a Founder and all...
Right now my base of operations is Explorers Anchorage, as it is over 20 kly closer where I roam nowadays.
I tend to visit about once a month, record & sell my discoveries.

*Now, how the Shinrarta system became such a wretched hive of scum and villainy?
Don't look at me! I wasn't there when that happened.
Sheesh, those young 'uns, you turn your back for a blink of an eye and suddenly everything is a mess...

At the moment I can't join ED_H through Steam in normal hours a I can't join the internet. Its Xmas time, holidays and everything is overloaded. Even right now is problematical to post at the Forum.
I'll need to wait a couple of weeks when things quieten down to even watch your utube clip. But I will.

I rescued enough people to become an ally of all the factions in the Coal Sack nebula systems - 4 of them. I also had the new to me experience of being hyperdicted by Thargoids - that's being pulled out of the jump between two systems into normal space and then having the power go off to the entire ship while a Thargoid ship scans you. It's cool and creepy. This happened twice and I managed to record most of the second incident. I'll post up the video if it is of interest.

CMDR Orodruin defeated the Thargoid in a Hauler. I don't have the specialist weapons to defeat big Thargoid ships like those. You have to collect parts and data from Guardian ruins to get access to the special weapons for fighting the big Thargoid ships. I'm practicing with an Alliance Chieftan before getting those weapons (Gauss canons) first.
