So I need a Medusa Tissue Sample and have been trying to get one for the last 12 hours or so. I figured my best bet would be would be to find non-human signals with a threat level of 7, but in those 12 hours I've only found 3 of them and they were all full of scouts. So does anyone know of a location where threat level 7s are common or conversely some place where I can easily find a Medusa that won't be instantly mad at me and give me time to anally probe it?
that was exactly what i was looking for, but still wound up with a rebuy, maybe i need to rethink my plans here <_<

Maybe a bit late for you but if all you want is the tissue samples, then
- engineer a DBX to run super cool (mine runs at 13%; around 20% should do you)
- when you drop into the threats, get ready to low wake out if there are scouts there
- if it's just you and the 'goid then slowly back away when it comes looking for you
- when it realises there's nothing to see, target it (no need for the experimental scanner) and fire your research limpet
- stay within 5km or the limpet will fail
- sometimes the limpet fails anyway (thank RNGeesus)
This is incorrect, threat 7's can spawn solo Medusas'. That's how I received my Medusa Tissue a few days ago.
Both are correct. Some systems spawns threat 8 with Medusa, some with Threat 7. Now either way is correct to spawn it just RNG based. We have now more option couse war is escalating.

Go to the Electra system. Fly to the sixth planet and look for the attacked mega ship. Either an interceptor or four NPCs will spawn. If it’s not a Medusa, supercruise, loop 180 and drop back in. Repeat until you get a Medusa. Good luck CMDR o7

I used the Silent Running method and most times it worked and the goids didn't shoot at me (at least for Cyclops, I have to find the others myself). Perhaps you've more luck at the Megaships (try relogging, if there are only human Aegis ships).

The main thing is to boost during the scan so it doesn't complete. If you drop into a threat level 8 there are going to be scouts AND and interceptor. The mega ship method is the best IMHO; I've spent a LOT of time trying to gather the samples so I speak from experience.

But can it really be true, that there is still a bug with collecting samples?? I mean, I can see it was reported over 4 months ago?
I’m afraid it is still true. I completed the Ram Tah missions this morning and got my 52 million (and 12 blueprints to unlock the guardian weaons). Once I got past the sample collecting part I really enjoyed it but that bug sucked.

But yes, I guess the Megaship method is the fastest. The worst thing is, that you can't store any ship cargo in a station. If you have 2/3 Thargoid samples and you get destroyed during the third, you can start all over. Don't know why Fdev sets such high hurdles to access new content. Guess that at least 80% of the players don't bother with this content due to hurdles like goids tissue samples...
