Not an option as the new graphics engine is coming to Horizons before the end of the year which removes the choice for people to remain in the Universe they're used to seeing (otherwise I'd ignore all the debate and just continue happily playing Horizons - perhaps dipping into Odyssey every now and again to remind myself why I prefer Horizons). With the exception of the atmospheric effects Horizons looks better (it's a personal opinion - just as yours is - so don't argue that point because you don't decide what other people prefer). This (Horizons) looks better? LOL Then go play your ugly looking Horizons.
Oh god I think you might be right. Would certainly explain why all the planets I've been to are generally flat (I mean there's a lack of cliffs and genuinely undulating terrain) with some rocks stuck on them.It only takes one look at how human models look and behave on the sloped/uneven terrain to understand why planets were "flattened" to make it more "walkable". It's a horrible excuse and whoever came up with that idea should have chosen a different career path. Instead of detailing the animation and collision they went with the easiest and most damaging workaround.
This tile issue might even be a result of that as well as if you have pre-build areas it is much easier to make sure they are more "walk friendly".
I think you'll find that last remark is highly offensive to wheelchair users!Legs is life, legs is power, legs are immersive, legs making you feel vastness of space better, action on legs is funnier. Can live with bugs, cant live without legs.
It was a big crater i´ll try to take a picture of the border of that crater.the first one was realy nice, altough i would have liked to see the crater broder while you decend.
The second one (?) starting at around 13:00 the one with low atmosphere looks disgusting if you ask me and totaly breaks my immersion. All these "rounded spiky" dunes, i don't know.
the details on the textures are amazing. Maybe thats why it don't fit with these strange landscapes. i'd expected more eroded crust like stuctures, not boiling pudding worlds.
And also, what about some simple volumetric clouds? i dare to ask, mabye with the next expansion...
you know that there are clouds on mars? with a 0.095 psi atmosphere. not like clouds like on earth of course, thats why i wrote "simple".Clouds in low atmospheric planets? lol
There are some vapor on odyssey in some very few atmspheric planets. i see one today.you know that there are clouds on mars? with a 0.095 psi atmosphere. not like clouds like on earth of course, thats why i wrote "simple".
Well, when Horizons was released in 2015 it looked horrible and had a thousand problems, some of them I have shown photos in this post.good pictures. To me, the border looks like a few hundres meters height, realy hard to see without an asp in front of things. While in the video from low oribt it looked more like kilometers heigth? to me at least.
I'm playing elite since 2015, i have seen many wonderous and beautiful thinks ingame.
Don't get me wrong i admire the new athmospheric light scattering, there is a real beauty in odysse. But part of the new planet tech is realy breaking my immersion, i still keep the hope up that this is still a bug and not the final new way to build the ground geometry of planets.
In another 6 years. And also, what about some simple volumetric clouds? i dare to ask, mabye with the next expansion...

In fact Odyssey's skybox works like it worked on some previous Horizons versions. You now need to be away from main star (and needed to be in older Horizons too) for sky to be lit up. Away from star, no problems, and yes this is from EDO, in fact unpatched EDO from release day (with poor graphics settings):And no, Mr ObsidianAnt, space isn't black. It's not generating much light, but it's full of stars. Billions of them. I see way more in Earth sky, with it's atmosphere than in ED. Mostly due to technical reason, I understand, but in Horizon it was perfectly fine.
The Milky Way from Earth is stunning. Not a redish stain you can barely see.
In short, space is dark but not black. In Odyssey, it's both.
Well, if that's true, then it means they can fix it by reverting whatever they did.In fact Odyssey's skybox works like it worked on some previous Horizons versions. Mars have dust storms, has any one found some in ED? No luck for me so far. There are some vapor on odyssey in some very few atmspheric planets. i see one today.
do you know that are wind too?
are u explorer? do you explore planets yourself?
I do think it is a feature. Much like it was in older Horizons version. Personally, well its toss of coin if I like it or not. There are big contrasts, but on other hand you need to travel inside system longer to see sky in all of its glory...Well, if that's true, then it means they can fix it by reverting whatever they did.
The question remains, is it a bug or a feature ? As with many things in EDO, it's hard to know.
That would be a stupid decision, both for realism value and gameplay value.I do think it is a feature. Much like it was in older Horizons version.
Well they try to make somewhat dynamic skybox. See how view behaves when there is bright light shining on cockpit, vs. cockpit is fully in shadow. IRL realistic version would glare obstruct stars fully...That would be a stupid decision, both for realism value and gameplay value.
The issue is twofold. First, the cockpit, can go very very dark, and the UI is very dark to. Changing gamma only have a minor impact on that. It's like we have shutdown all our interior light, for some reason.Well they try to make somewhat dynamic skybox.
