New ship: Panther Clipper

@Bigmaec , Sir are you ok? i dont know you much , but if you need a hug or some water or a fire extinguisher just not to burn spontaneously, tell us we will gladly help you :):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Yep, all is good, I am on vacation driving my Dolphin equivalent on the steets of eastern Germany. Can't wait for the Panther, finally all my posts about it are avenged.
People screamed about it constantly for the last like 8 years or so. I it was brought up constantly.
Yes, mostly by me
See any post by @Bigmaec
👆 Not any, but many :ROFLMAO:

Thanks FD, it is amazing you finally insert that ship into the game.

As far as hardpoints go, it needs a couple of huge slots, and a couple of large hardpoints top and bottom.

Why? Because the F:E/FFE Panther could carry the largest weapons in the game, and it had turrets. Maybe a few smaller hardpoints for other stuff... so people can mine with it.

It needs a heap of utility slots for shield boosters, so players can more or less ignore small and medium hostiles just like the old days.

I don't like these Optionals. If they use only size 7, eight of them will give 1024.
If half of them are 8 and four 7, it will be 1538.
Only if all eight are 8 it would be 2024.

I was hoping I'd see an 8, not 7.
Looks like it would be 1538.
With the way the slots are placed its likey that the first two are 8s and the ones after that are 7s

1000, adequately shielded and SCO optimized would be what I would like to see. More would be better, but it should make 1000 shielded.
Yeah honestly Im fine with this, with the amounts most wing missions give this would let me get most fone in 2-3 trips as opposed to 3-5

Looking at my "not in the next system" trade Cutter build, it can shift 688t of cargo c.200 LY without refuelling (five jumps); 40.35LY fully laden, with the return (no cargo) taking only 4 jumps. Put differently it's c.76t of cargo delivered "per jump" in the round trip.

If the cargo / (jumps per round trip) metric for the Panther Clipper Mk II is below that then it would be a less attractive option for middle distance trade. In the completely speculative estimate I posted earlier the 2000t of cargo would take 8 jumps out and 5 jumps back, so the metric would be 154t per jump. Also noting that the fully laden example would be able to do 13 jumps without refuelling, a total of c.340LY.

Which leads me to suspect that my 2,000t cargo capacity guess is a bit on the high side.

I guess it will be more the option for fleet carrier unloading aka fast SCO but Low jumprange. The jumprange will propably be less than a Cutter and the survivability in CGs might be less too. I hope not, I hope it has a shield factor making it virtually immune to ganking as the Cutter is, but the Corsair tought me to keep my expectations limited.

Exactly: main + an indeterminate number of altCMDRs would dock fully laden on the main's Carrier then jump the Carrier to within one short jump of the destination.

Basically the Panther Clipper Mk II will significantly increase the quantity of "weightless" cargo on Carriers (for each CMDR docked on it with a full cargo hold) - another effect of this will be to increase the Carrier total tritium availability and range of the player with a number of altCMDRs.

Great, I just realized His Brabeness will get more Arx from my Alt, too
