New Version of Cmdr's Log Available!

Just wanted to say thanks to ArchV1 for this great tool.
Have been using it for a week or so and finding it very useful to track my game.

Only request at the moment would be some way of keeping track of distances between systems, but I realise this might not be straightforward (can you view System coordinates in the galaxy map somehow?).
As I add more and more systems, I'm not sure I would want to have trade results returned for everything in the galaxy and using hide/unhide might be rather cumbersome.

Anyway, thanks again for all you hard work!

Hi, thanks for the tool!

I must be stupid but how do I fill a commodity that has both a supply and demand since there is only one field? Let's saY hydrogen fuel for instance here:

Thanks.

u have it correct as in your pic. For Supply enter the buy price & for Demand enter the sell price the tool will work it out for u :)

But how do I fill in the 117 credits selling price since there is no extra field? That was my question, how do you fill both a selling and buying price for a commodity?

You don't need to the price difference will be small and if a station has a supply you wouldn't want to sell to them the price would be too low to turn a profit so just record:

Buy price when commodity is in supply
Sell price when commodity is in demand

Been trying to get this to work for logging my exploration flight (Just to pick up the system name + let me enters notes such as "Earth like world here!"), but damned if I can.

VerboseLogging is enabled in the appropriate xml file, but I can't see anywhere to tell the app where the log flies are created.

With the app running, it doesn't register any change in systems, and does not recognise current location when logging in.

Slopey's BPC recognises location etc seemingly fine though - not sure what's going on here, does the app need to be run from a specific path or something?

Don't worry, you're not going mad. It doesn't do this for you.
I think it would be a smart addition though, so I hereby second the motion to have this functionality built in when you get time please ArchV1 :)

Didn't FD remove access to the log that records location back in beta/gamma?
I tried Slopey's for a while and couldn't get that to get my location either.

No... well yes, but it's easy to switch back on.

Find: (your installation location)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\FORC-XXXX-X-XXXX\AppConfig.xml

(or search for AppConfig.xml)

Then open it up in any text editor, and at the bottom is an entry called VerboseLogging="0"
Change that to VerboseLogging="1" and your log file and other programs that read the log file now know what system you are in.
You do have to system jump once to get the ball rolling, but after that it's continuous.

After every patch it gets changed back so you have to do it again but it's easy enough.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, there is always something to learn.

Hi Arch, any chance the recently added, custom checkbox could be Tri-State like black market? (And where's the outpost y/n support (so it can be filtered in trade results) :D

I have created a small, but helpful extension for this great app (which i highly prefer over others because of simplicity sake). I have a tool which just sits in the background waiting for your keypress (ctrl+shift+f12). It will ocr the current view and puts it result right in the import folder for Cmdr's log. You dont even leave the game doing so. A small message will tell you when its done, so you can scroll down and do it right again, thus preparing another import file. Whenever you are ready you hit the import button in cmdr's log and voila, all data imported. This makes importing really fast.

Now, i have been keeping this for myself the past weeks to iron out some flaws. Im there but would still like to give it few tests with other people. If youre interested, please drop me a pm and ill provide a download link.

Um... that's unexpected. Can anyone else verify this is happening? (I can't try it until I get home from work).

Hey Arch.. I'm back to trading now since the beta's over and yes I can verify this.

If you have a commodity which is "not set" and you mark it as "illegal" it's all good. If you then press "All Not Set -> None" it changes all the illegal ones to HS (but also leaves them as illegal).

[edit] ... BUT it only does it to a new station. If you edit a previously created station to set the illegals back to "not set" then press the "all not set -> none" button it behaves itself.

Hey guys... This is kind of already been happening, but I'm gonna have to take a hiatus for awhile. Our second child is coming on MONDAY, so there's alot going on. Just wanted to you let you know I haven't disappeared; just super busy! :)

That galaxy will always be there for me!

Congrats on your real baby, as well as all the work you put in for this one here. Go have a life for a while, and thanks very much sir.
