I have Game Feature Idea that could help some of the Offline Players, not all, for sure, but better than nothing: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=60658
Stop time. Yeah... good luck with that...

Godwin has already happened earlier. At least that was worked out of our systems already, lol
.....Judge that Mr Magistrate.
Yes, you would only be able to connect to my server as there is only one server in existence than can service the clients requests. That doesn't mean that the client has DRM.
"Physical DRM-free boxed edition of "Elite: Dangerous" plus all rewards above (please note: the disc in the pack is simply an alternative way to install the game - it will have the same online account code whether installed off disc or downloaded digitally)."
how the offline would work was under discussion at the time, but
"Physical DRM-free" seems quite unambiguous to me! install the full game on my hard drive, without any DRM or authentication required if im playing single player offline.
"an alternative way to install the game" sounds like the full playable game on the disc to me and
"online account code" sounds like an authentication code to play the online version of the game, if i so choose, to me!
i think you'd have to do some pretty darn good linguistic gymnastics to convince me to understand anything else from that paragraph!
.... except for the fact that the offline mode was not mentioned on the KS front page until after the "Physical DRM-free boxed set" and DRM FAQ answer had been made, therefore they did not necessarily apply to offline at all.
And if that happens, they must refund, or fnd an alternative way to satisfy the pledge reward, like our own servers.
What I want is an offline version, my money back, or what you describe. Either way, I ordered a DRM free version.
Agreed, the offline or money back options are better for us all.
So you're saying the difference between Elite Dangerous being delivered and what you pledged for is as different as a cat is from a chocolate bar. It's not. The chocolate bar is missing one ingredient. And you did not walk in to a shop and buy something that was available off the shelf. It was clear that things would change. They have, you're not happy with the change.
What do you do with that? Bad mouth the developer! Getting on their wrong side is really going to convince them to listen to you. Ever heard of Game Theory? In adversarial games neither side wins. So all the talk about 'let's force FDev to change their mind' is self defeating. Should I join you? I first have to believe in what you say in that you have been "Cheated" somehow. I have yet to be convinced that is the case. Disappointed, yes. Cheated, no.
Player-driven or AI-driven, it's quite the same if the world is meant to be dynamic.
Yeah, lets lie to dump our baggage on the next unlucky guy, is that what you are doing right now?
Only the Solo Instance, that didn't affect the online Universe at all.Stop time. Yeah... good luck with that...![]()

hey, last minute idea:
what about to start a new kickstarter for an offline version of Elite Dangerous ?
And a clear violation of the Terms and Conditions, you're not seriously advocating that are you now?![]()
They haven't compromised the PLEDGE REWARDS......
Yes some of the stuff they said in the FAQ or design goals may not have happened, but as Pyelot quoted, its not against Kickstarter rules if you aren't able to fully produce everything you wanted to.
