Odyssey VR specific bug reports - please contribute!

Using a Vive Pro 2.

I just checked again doing a comparison with the Sidewinder.
Sidewinder, if I look left, simply turn my head left and I see a nice large nav panel, if I do the same in the Mandalay and the Mamba (I checked ;)) I see nothing but the ship sides, I have to look down to see the small and close up nav panel :)
Once I have worked out how to take a VR Screenshot i`ll do a bug report.

I use a 4k monitor with the game window set to 640x480, screenshots are always of this game window, is there any software or tricks to take a Vr screenshot?
TIA
I can't help with Vive Pro 2 stuff, sorry - but I've just taken these shots via the built-in Quest 3 functions (these are 25% the size of the originals) and the Mandy panels are the same size and position as those in the Eagle. Compared to my daily driver, the Cobra Mk3, the panel is smaller, closer, and slightly lower. I took the following three shots with my head in the same position (I lined up the left edge of my right eye view on my CMDR's left elbow):

Madalay Navigation and Ship panels.

Dont know if this is counted as a bug or just a poor design choice, either way it is uncomfortable for me personally to use the way it currently is.

In the Mandalay the Nav & Ship panels are too small, too low and too close to the pilots face, they need scaling up and moving further away from the pilots seat, they are proportionately wrong given the size of the craft being flown.
Jump into the very tiny and very old Sidewinder and all of these points are perfectly placed and positioned, its like they missed a decimal place out of the scaling and positioning.

Worthy of a bug report?
I'm not having those issues in my Quest 2. Generally, the left and right panels were never exactly the same for me depending on the ship. I attribute that as much to the uniqueness of each cockpit. None of them are bad for me. I noticed no difference between when I used to rely on my Acer Windows Mixed Reality headset and the Quest 2.

Thats odd how it works fine for you guys, it would appear I have a faulty game. Without Vr, a simple look left does not activate the nav panel without looking down at an angle, amazed how your vr corrects it ;)
Lol.

Weird that it changes the angle with ships. I couldn't tell if it happens to me as I have the habit of resetting my PoV every time I get into a ship so I can see the panels and out the window a little better.

Just to throw something out there, see if leaning forward slightly and pressing F12 to reset your PoV makes the panels pop more easily.

Lol.
I don’t use the look-to-activate function on any panels - I find the pop-ups annoying when I’m just trying to enjoy the view - so I always activate my panels with a key combo.

Are you saying the visual activation area is a problem with the Mandalay?

Its the same in or out of vr, using hat switch to look left, I still have to look down to activate the nav panel, its a minor but annoying inconvenience in the Mandalay and Mamba, every other ship works fine in or out of vr.

I’ve checked the Mandalay/Mamba/Eagle/Imp Eagle and they all have the same visual activation range for the panels for me - and I have to look down slightly to activate, compared to the larger panels in other ships.

If the visual activation area is different for you then I’d suggest a bug report would be in order.

I disable the VR aspect of panel activation altogether. The LAST thing I want is a panel coming up just because I look in a particular direction. I have a hat switch set to trigger all the panels. I've never had an issue with this functioning consistently.

It's a preference, yes. I rather have the panel pop up on its own while I have both hands full fighting a battle... and losing lol. In particular, I miss looking at the Comms window and be able to start typing right away - a bug that's been with us >3 years.

New issue report: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/71220 - where the VR player is experiencing crashes when attempting to board a shuttle. I’m pretty sure I’ve used a shuttle since the last Update and had no issue, but I’ll check again to see if I can duplicate the report problem.

Edit: I’ve used Apex shuttles one after another today and not experienced any crashes.

The issue with Remlok helmet edges being displayed in the wrong eyes has been Acknowledged by FDev and enters the popularity chart at position #112.

It’s something I’m not seeing much of since the Thargoids stopped melting my canopy, but it’s nice to see it on the list anyway 👍

The most popular VR issue ever gets fixed - so there will be plenty of spare votes now.

Please take the time to redistribute that spare vote you now have to another bug report 👍

  • Fixed a crash when viewing Powerplay Strategic view on the Galaxy Map in VR. - Issue ID: 67146
  • Fixed orbit lines displaying in only one eye in VR. - Issue ID: 66591
!
The PowerPlay view crash got fixed in a previous update though it never made the notes then, our bonus fix this time is the PowerPlay help screens being at the wrong visual depth. (Edit: just checked, it’s a nice curved screen now - it just needs to be a touch bigger and it would cover the original PowerPlay screen and not look slightly messy with those bits poking out from underneath. Oh well, beggars can’t be choosers! 😁)

Three of my issue reports getting fixed in one patch? I’m feeling spoiled, FDev!

Now, about those shadows…😁

It is fixed. Something was fixed for VR. Amazing. I still have to turn off thick+ orb lines or else I can't see the station dot. But, not complaining, we got TWO VR issues fixed.

And no, the 3+ year old Comms window bug that clears it when you look at it was not fixed. Still, happy to see "VR" in the release notes.
