At the time of this post, my mom and I have only seen the first three episodes, all of which was yesterday, so I really can't say much on the whole thing, but I can share some things that I took notice of without trying to spoil anything:
1. I was really shocked when there was a huge reference to Jurassic Park III which I won't say what it is for those who haven't seen it.
2. During the time of the first film, there wasn't much lore info on the new onscreen dinosaurs from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom dinosaurs (the five Nublar species), except the baryonyx to a certain extent via the viral in-universe Nublar website, but they did explore much of their lore on two of them in a basic sense which would lead up to the expanded lore around the time of Fallen Kingdom and its marketing prior to the film's release.
3. I think what people mean about the humans being more "cartoony" for one part are their eyes and over all facial expressions, but when I watched the series, whenever the camera is close to their heads, they're surprisingly pretty darn detailed! You can see how almost realistic their hair and facial spots are.
4. As what the producers and other associates said, it may be a "kids/family show", but it still feels like a Jurassic kind of show as there is peril, there are thrills, and so on. Throughout my whole life, I learned you don't always need unexpected, graphic or predictable deaths and so on that you may read or hear online just to get yourself excited or scarred or so on.
(For example, when I first watched this classic 1979 horror film four years ago, I already knew its main character would survive because I've read about it and that series many years prior, but my heart was still pounding like crazy when I watched it for the first time because of what she really had to go through in order to survive as she does.)
5. The one thing I love about most, even though it's been only three episodes for me as of now, was the character relationship development. They have conflicts because of their different personalities, some of them understand their differences and resolve around them, and becoming friends over time. Whether you like or dislike any of the characters is a completely different argument, but it's stuff like what they do and go through that can actually be more realistic than you think, because I've seen similar and similarly been there before, particularly during my school years.
My mom and I will continue to watch the rest of the series together for the next couple of days, as there are stuff in there that are, well... let's just say, very interesting...
