Official Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous reveal!

I could think of one reason why they don't put it on their own platform, you got to remember Universal is probably hurting because of the shutdown and not to mention their theme park is currently closed due to the pandemic where most of their currency comes from so I think that's why they're going to keep their series on Netflix so they can make as much money as possible.

It's made by Dreamworks Animation and they seem to have some sort of exclusivity deal with Netflix. So I'm guessing that's the reason?
Yeah, looking into it that does seem to be the case for a lot of projects, though they have started doing exclusives for Hulu and Amazon Prime as well (though the Madagascar ones made with Hulu have also come to Peacock). It seems like a fair bit of the movies have been moved off Netflix too.

Apparently Netflix ones have become available on Universal TV a few years after release, so the same might happen with Peacock, though I don't know specifically what's on Peacock right now, being unavailable for Australia to even look at.

you know what I really hope Frontier include for the dinosaur Parasaurolophus in Jurassic world evolution the glowing skin and I'm hoping that Jean is added into this game because it would be so cool to watch these dinosaurs glow in the dark at night.😍

Today, a second trailer for Season 2 has been uploaded, revealing its targeted release date. It is planned for January 22, literally about a month from now.

Interestingly, the notable dinos shown here are the trio of Baryonyx, matching the basic color schemes of the figures from the Camp Cretaceous sub-toyline of Primal Attack, some of them being named Grim, Limbo, and Chaos all together as a "trio", confirming that all three named Baryonyx will appear there. Another thing here is a Ceratosaurus with a simplified grey color scheme as oppose to the JPIII pattern and color scheme from the previous trailer and probably towards the end of this one. I don't know if it's because there are more than one, or if it's just the lighting, or something else.

These are aimed at 'kids'
Kids and Parents should certainly be the main demographics, but I have heard the complaint that it's just trying to appeal far too generally and not really succeeding anywhere.

When it comes to Jurassic World, apparently the Lego extended stuff seems to be doing a much better job, focusing primarily on young children.

I suppose, Toro did change, the new colouration of Ceratosaurus seems the only one in this trailer. The JP3 colouration is part of the CC toyline after all, so it would be a bit awkward to not have it in the series at all. Getting a closer look at it, the head proportions seem a bit weird to me, particularly when opening its mouth.

Also no sign of the Gallimimus, Dimorphodon or Stygimoloch. By the second trailer last season the only species not revealed was Compsognathus I think, so it doesn't necessarily bode well for all of them being in season 2 and maybe being pushed back for season 3.

Interesting little development, there are Troodon with the Camp Cretaceous packaging now. They aren't even different colourations though, so I think this might be an indication that they're just shoehorning species into the Camp Cretaceous section of the toy line, without them actually being in the show. As to how far that actually goes is hard to say.

Well that's true they didn't appear or have any other kind of confirmation. Still doesn't rule out them being in or not just yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were like all the other toylines before considering the Camp Cretaceous sub-toyline from Primal Attack is a lot more diverse and plentiful than the Battle at Big Rock sub-toyline (which only had two) figures from Dino Rivals.

It is also worth noting that the producers through interviews with some other big YouTube channels confirm the dino roster selection, at least for the first season at the time, was a "pick and choose" kind of scenario, rather than just shoving anything or everything in just because. Perhaps it was also the case here.

What's very interesting is that the Jurassic World Facts App, which utilizes these Mattel Jurassic World action figures, has some of the recently released Primal Attack toys like the repainted Sarcosuchus and even the Troodon (and possibly other stuff too) under the "Camp Cretaceous" section, despite being marketed via the regular Primal Attack packaging. The released Troodon has the packaging to the right of the picture. None of the said dinos aren't even categorized under "Primal Attack" at all. There are at least a couple of minor inconsistencies with the dinos in the app since the beginning already, so I'm not sure if it was a mistake on the app developer part.

Besides, if any of these unreleased toys were to release as "Camp Cretaceous figures", it would probably be like how not all of the main figures that market their respective shows appear in the flesh on-screen, as some of these, like the Troodon, seem pretty unlikely, due to the fact they don't represent anything in the shows prior to their design modeling. Nothing that doesn't appear in a film/TV series but in a toyline really gets a model that really represents as they do in the latter from what I can see.

The Jurassic Park Podcast has uploaded a producer interview with Scott Kreamer on their YouTube channel. This 50 minute interview explains some things about Season 1 and Season 2. It may contain spoilers for those who haven't seen the second season yet.

To catch up with things, here are two (somewhat) shorter interviews from The Jurassic Park Podcast and Jurassic Outpost that explain other things the recent interview above doesn't share.

News, everybody! Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous has just been officially announced to be renewed for a third season, coming up soon in May 21! You know, I first speculated it would announce next month, about 3 weeks after the second one aired as how the second one first announced. Regardless, I knew there would be a third season announcement made soon, and where a new threat, codenamed E750, has been unleashed!

You know, I heard somewhere (This is only a rumor) that Frontier is supposedly going to announce something concerning JWE. What if it coincides with the 3rd season? Maybe a new DLC about Camp Cretaceous? (Or a sequel, I guess)

All they did say was the JWE team has been working on something and will announce it this year, with out specifying or hinting what it is. Meaning, it can be absolutely anything possible, just like what they did, at least to my current knowledge, twice last year in a playthough livestream and their Instagram respectively.

Yeah, the statement that something is planned came out of their mouth specifically on twitter:
"The Jurassic World Evolution team is hard at work on something new and we will have more to share about it later this year!"
"We are not quite ready to share what we're working on, but we will have news to share about it later this year."

It seems like they're referring to the dev team, though I suppose it could be interpreted as other aspects like the media team.

I wouldn't hold expectations for a Camp Cretaceous related update, or really any content updates, seeing the other information we have doesn't support it.

I personally feel like it's probably fairly significant, given the amount of time in advance.

Probably. Any ideas of what it may be, though? The update, I mean?

If there were an update, CC would be the strongest reason. I'd assume they'd go for the last season of it, whenever that is.

An update of just about any size could be considered significant, given we've had no content in more than a year, so a few prominent skins and E750 seems a good baseline.

On a separate note, here's the cover of the Junior Novelisation of season 3 (Swrve just did a vid on it):

So it looks likely for Dimorphodon to be shown off in the coming season, granted not impossible to be cut or just Novel specific (if it doesn't show up in the full trailer there's a good chance it's not in the season).

Rumor has it that this won't be the final season. Twitter leaks from a person named "Lucca", a big fan of the franchise, claims that there will be 5 seasons, and that the final would be around the beginning of 2022, essentially Q1 of 2022.

Somehow this person gets and posts things that shouldn't be leaked in the first place (ex: the alleged true name of the codenamed "E750" dino). I don't know who exactly this person is, or if they have any associates helping them, so I can't say how and why they can or are doing this. Leaked stuff can have the potential to become outdated in some big or small way over time, or even just end up being simple misinterpretations or miscommunications, no matter how much details in a single post or more can be right.

If this is true, like I think it could be, Camp Cretaceous would perhaps continue a bit longer than I suspected, but we'll see.
