Okay so every action one performs in the game can and does effect the BGS at some level you are advocating an Open Only scenario?

PVP play doesn't actually affect any of this stuff significantly. Oh sure you can blockade a system.... Kind of. But there's plenty of ways around that aside from switching to solo.
2OP: "Each to his own" ... easiest way how to enjoy ED the most is to choose the mode which you like the most. ED is a game, it should be fun for you, and you have three official modes for it.

At least NPCs talk to you, which is more than you get from many players.

I'm not talking about PVP. I'm not into PVP. I don't care about it. To me, this isn't a game where PVP forms a meaningful or fun part of a shared experience. I'm not into PowerPlay either.

My opinion, like it or not ... but you did ask for it ("lol") , is that if you're playing in Solo then you are essentially offline and should have no ability to impact the shared experience enjoyed by those playing in Open.
