Ah, don't worry. Technically, ARX ships already are P2W, anyway. And there will be enough folks here who will tell you that there is nothing in Elite to win to start with, so FDev is free to release the beast. I, for one, welcome our new ARX hauling overlord!

Genuine P2W would be, for example, if they released a new weapon that's clearly superior to all other weapons in PvP, and available for ARX only. Or for example a shield module that's clearly superior to all existing ones, likewise available for ARX only.
Early access to a balanced combat ship (which arguably the Python Mk II is) for a couple of months isn't really P2W. Early access to non-combat ships most definitely isn't.
Bgs stuff. Players seem to compete over the better systems and areas for colonization, chaining systems to reach specific places etc. Player factions can organize entire small regions of space (and they do, more or less).
I've always played mostly in the edge of the bubble (a playstyle now gone.. ), and there are 3-4 big player factions around. They used to mostly avoid conflict before trailblazers, but now.. The easiest way to expand is to just colonize a new system.
I'd like it to be a brick, utilitarian, like a giant barge to barely fit into a mail-slot, and carry enormous loads.
Lets hope FD show us the new ship on FU and not just the same screenshot. Its too late to contain the beefcake.

FD had a panel there talking about the design process for the Mandalay and snuck in a "just one more thing" sneek peek. I think it was also down to timing, since FU is only a few days later and its good buzz (since they'd know we'd lap it up like the Gollums we are).

it's a sliding scale and the ones you list are the more offensive examples of P2W
however
let's has we have a trading CG and these absolutely have a ranking depending on where you finish up
one player has an ARX bought panther with an SCO drive and another player has a T9
whether it matters to you or not is a different argument. personally it does not bother me. but that is a "feels" argument (ie subjective)
But I don't see how that does not objectively tick the P2W boxes. perhaps you can't "win" elite dangerous but you can absolutely win a CG

Yeah, I know, but I wasn't commenting on "genuine P2W" or "real P2W", but on "technically P2W". It also was more tongue in cheek really, because all this "oh no, it is not P2W, because that would be soooo baaad" is getting boring fast.

If both front and rear thrusters just rotated, then the rear thrusters would be blocking the front ones. It looks likely the rear thrusters rotate and move upwards, so from behind the front thrusters are lower than the rears.
