People using hacks

<snip>

here it is, sorry for quality, you get the message. ill update first post

Seems plausible.
He wasn't really getting that far away from you when you actually traveled in the same direction as his ship.
If you kept following instead of typing it would have been easier to see.

Why did his shields go down if he was using an exploit?
Looked like he didnt get shot much until the other ship shot him.

from what can be told readin *some* forums, they can hack the value of shield / ammo in order to freeze those.

this means:

1- infinite shield cells
2- can allow shield to range from 100% to X% then freeze (for example, once shield is 10% it won't go below)

also they can insta jump (no spool up) to any distance (even 1k ly or more), infini energy, hull value freeze, damage modification....

and this is what i found more than a month ago, so tbh, i wouldn't be surprised at all that they can now change other value like speed.

and this is known since almost a YEAR, yet nothing has been done....

Baby, one thing at a time. We'll come back to this. I'm more interested in seeing the Bugatti Orca.

(Protip for future uploaders: For God's sake, man, just cut the relevant clip and upload THAT!)

Clip doesn't look like lag to me 'baby'. Perhaps cut the condescension and stop trying to make excuses for the cheats in the game.

i've reported people in the group i used to belong to for using hacks. they share them on our private forums, use exploits to make billions of worth of bounties which they've shared amongst 7 or so players. sent screenshots, commander names, explanations of the method used and nothing happened.

plausable? getting away from a FDL that fast is plausable? what drugs are you on? Its not my footage, i am in the wing, I use a rift and shadowplay in the rift is pretty poor quality.

So there was an Orca in leesti just now, I cant name him , he boosted away from my FDL at a rate of 1 kilometer per second. my FDL can catch anything not a clipper or cobra. Frontier I put a ticket in, please ban this guy, he was elite combat rank too, Hacks are so easy to obtain in this game, please address this in powerplay.

16. No Naming and Shaming.
We do not allow "naming and shaming" discussions, or types of content deemed naming and shaming on the Frontier discussion board. Naming and Shaming is the act of publicly naming someone and ridiculing or accusing them of something. This also includes putting names on a blacklist in your signature or thread.

Just a friendly hint:

Better remove your video.
Send an email to support with the link.
They will look into it and make a decision.

Just imagine this CMDR did not cheat...

I have never named him. people upload videos all the time. If i get banned I get banned, there is a ticket with the video also attached.

If you think reporting people via the mechanism FD wish them to be reported is a pointless exercise, how much point do you expect there to be in creating a forum thread on the topic?

If they are cheating, report them, block them, move on.

and what will that accomplish? Frontier is sitting on your money; they don't care about Open being full of cheaters, they don't care that there is an ENTIRE community focused on hacking the game to be invincible; they're basically sitting on a pile of money doing NOTHING

actually, carefull looking of the vid, one can see that right before typing, OP's ship is going 400M/s in a direction very close to the "suspect" ship, and yet said ship does manage to move,

00:24 op has same trajectory and does 400m/s range is 4.33km
00:28 op has dropped to 360m/s shortly before boosting again at 400m/s, trajectory still the same, tgt range is now 6.43km

that means that tgt was +- 500m/s faster than OP

all this is before OP start typing and is in full "chase" mode

tldr: this orca speed can be evaluated around 860 to 1k m/s

i highly doubt that, with a base speed of 380m/s, an orca can come close to 800m/s regardless of fitting

I'm not sure if that is or isn't cheating but I do know that reporting people is a pointless exercise as they are not banned, even after multiple occasions of hacking/cheating. I myself have simply stopped reporting anyone now as there's no point.

That's the spirit!

Aww. You seem offended by words in print. You might want to look into that. Or don't. Whichever. I can't tell you what to do.

As to the video, I don't see conclusive evidence of a hack being used. Also, as another poster pointed out, the Orca pilot in question simply isn't acting like most exploiters do.

But that's not enough to rule it out either.

Report it and put it in the devs' hands. (Oh, and consider improving your technique.) -Sid

I'm not offended in the slightest baby, your post was directed at somebody else. I do think it makes you look... well, I shan't say since mods don't like that kind of thing. You seem to be arguing very strongly against the possibility that somebody might be hacking. You're either covering for your own activities or of a mental disposition which leaves you unable to admit you perhaps were wrong. Keep up the classy posting style though. - Sid (so cute when people sign their posts)

yes, that orca is going quite fast

Look at the math on the speeds he is doing above your post, thats about right in terms of what i calculated. tell me if thats plausable. Or are you a hacker apologist?

If hes cheating I hope he gets banned, but I don't think its at straight forward as you think.
Hes boosting away from you after interdiction.
Its 4km away once you point in his direction, after having done a boost turn, which means you arent moving in the same direction as his ship yet.
The orca is over 6km away when the FDL actually boosts in the orcas direction. The orca starts a pitch at this point, and the distance is closed.

The time it took to go from 4 km to 6 km was about 5 seconds, which is really quick, but until you are actually moving in the same direction for more than a few seconds I think its pretty difficult to prove anything.

Pretty much what I was thinking. OP was boosting at 400, yet Orca was pulling away as if OP was standing still, so Orca was doing at least double 400.
2 players viewed the same event so that would count as corroboration. If it's not a cheat, then it's definitely suspect.

yeah, while it could be bug related, i'm higly doubting this is anything but cheat here. i try to be carefull about qualifying cheater, but this one seems rather clear to me.

especially since there is video evidence, it's smooth so hard to blame on lag, witness 2 times by 2 persons.....yeah, if it looks like a dog and barks like a dog.....
