Peops who log off during a dual!!

They need a slap full stop, happened a few times now!! I like a bit of piracy you know blow peops up steal there cargo.

But hey guess what when you nearly destroy them they log off!!!

Open play is flawed this needs fixing like many others things.

Yeah well if you don't like it, go play sol... No, wait, that's the wrong rant...

Honestly I'm not sure why people would do that. If I log into Open, it's for the possibility of encountering others, good and bad. If I lose, I might have some choice words about you, but I'm not going to try to get out of it by task-killing. Meh. People are weird.

I know, it is lame³.
Hope they will implement better protection against combat loggers, so one can claim his well deserved kill.
Imagine you bounty hunt those in the top-lists. After ages, you find the commander, see him, you shadow him, manage to get him in front of your hardpoints... a blazing battle emerges and after minutes of tough combat you seem to get him. Shields down, systems damaged, FSD charge is futile... he will die every second now and the boun

gone.

I guess I'd bite into my table.

Thing is, if you blow peeps up you can't steal their cargo - so no piracy here.

It's player killing pure and simple. If you engaged in some real piracy, the outcome could be very different.

This is a form of Griefing, I don't think it'll be long before its fixed.

easy kills passig u by, eve online is thatta way, if ppl want to fight u they will, if they want to logoff they will its a game mechanic , adapt or stop playing

Yeah if I was getting hammered I wouldn't combat log its just lame.... If you play open play you play OPEN PLAY!!!

I have had this a great deal as well, they want to play open to get the achievement for only playing open but they don't want to work for it.

We need to kill this now!

A game mechanic thats lame, they should have consequence's, like I don't know fine them or don't let them log on for an hour or something!

Very dishonorable and if you play open you should be ready to get evaporated.

Sounds very Klingon!!! Kablah!

There's a 15 second timer for logging off, you have to 'pull the plug' to avoid that, which would be exploiting the games mechanics. Same as most MMO's, the timer just needs to be more solid, and perhaps a little longer.

I remember this issue popping up very early in Planetside 2's development. Players, especially pilots, would log out just before they died, denying their enemy the kill. It happend at such a high frequency that SOE made it so that your character stayed alive in the game world frozen in place (even midair) for about 30 seconds to a minute. This meant that if you logged out mid combat, you were guaranteed death, and need to find a safe place. Now, this might not work entirely in this game that, way, due to the possibility of flying into a star or getting interdicted, etc, but it could make it so that if you quit out in combat, say within 10 seconds of getting shot, the same thing happens.

5 min timer imo which you can bypass by landing in a station. 15s is nothing they can just boost and the timer starts counting while they are at full speed.

Pulling the plug has been the plague of multiplayer since the dawn of online gaming, the only way they could bypass it is by making their ship stay in-game for a considerable amount of time even if they arent piloting it.

I would like to point out that this works against NPCs as well.

It's a "get out of jail free" card for anything that doesn't instagib you. (for even more fun grab a few buddies with railgun sidewinders, bop something inside a station, and then forcequit before the guns can kill you)
