Performance halved after the release of Odyssey, and not improved after the patches

Three patches ago on foot combat dropped to 7 fps at parts, some parts of stations dropped to 10ish. They patched and it stayed the same, then they patched and it was at least 'playable'. Since then with 9, i haven't checked the fps but there is now no stutter whatsoever and plays without issue.

The OP does not have Odyssey.
They complain the FPS halved in Horizons. Which is simply not true

I can't say that I think that upgraded graphics is the reason for Odyssey performing poorly (reduced performance in equivalent situations, graphics don't look better, etc etc), but uh, this isn't even about Odyssey, so...

Anecdotally, I felt a slight FPS reduction since the last update in Horizons, which backported a few bits of Odyssey UI in the right panel. It probably didn't backport any of the broken Odyssey renderer, and I play on very underpowered hardware anyway, so I doubt Odyssey is the cause of either of our problems.

But, people are trying to helpfully explain to you why things are the way that you have found. So replying like you have just makes you look rude, impolite, and potentially like a bit of a ****.

I hope this helps to explain why people are a little miffed with your replies?
No it isn't. I've explicity wrote in the starting reply that:
  • i don't have odyssey
  • and that's why i don't see any change in graphics, which also means, no any improvement.
Then, those who have problems reading what they reply to, or maybe they just became angry somehow for what i wrote about a problem with the game - replied that i should take visual improvement into account, which isn't exist, as i wrote.
If you are still running a pc with that card in it (Radeon HD 5770)...

Good luck...
Nope, i have an gtx 1050Ti
Performance in Horizons didnt change. It's the same client
Frontier is actually maintaining 2 engines - as evidenced by the fact that we do have one Horizons client and one Odyssey client

So, maybe something changed in your setup.
Even the quantity of dust in your coolers... maybe your cpu/gpu is throttling?
It would be noticeable in other games like GTAV, but there only the only the low memory is the problem, the frame rate is quite good. As i wrote nothing is changed.

I'll be straight with you. You were being rude to people. That is my point and all that mattered, that I was trying to say. If you can't see that, then maybe there is a problem at your end.

I cba arguing this point or semantics any more though - if you can't see that you were being rude and out of order, then it's not my problem.

Still, nothing changed in the Horizons client that would lead to a 50% decrease in performance.

Basically, from a Horizons client perspective - nothing changed when Odyssey was launched.
They maintained 2 separated clients and 2 separated galaxies. Horizons players cannot meet Odyssey players

So it must be something on your end.
Else we would have a riot here, pretty much like the Odyssey players rioting because Odyssey performance is indeed crap compared with Horizons (albeit for a reason - better graphics in EDO)

"Nothing is changed" is objectively incorrect. Plenty will have changed since the last time you played: Windows updates, driver updates, even Horizons itself has had updates, any of which could have brought in incompatibilities, corruptions, etc on your computer.

Resetting Elite's graphics folder/cache is worth a try, as is checking Windows is fully up to date, latest GeForce drivers are installed, etc.

Considering FDev are still talking about updates to Odyssey, the substantial room for optimisation, and no respective mentions of console ports or the merging of codebases, worrying about "once two great rivers flow into one" seems premature.

Besides which, none of it helps the OP and their apparent performance problems in Horizons.

Well once the two great rivers flow into one....well, its going to get messy I suppose.
Guy in crow's nest: CAPTAIN!!!
Captain: What do you see, sailor?
Guy in crow's nest: There's another river up ahead, merging into the one we're already in. Lots of rapids and rough waters ahead.
Captain: No problem, we've handled that before. All hands, baton down the hatches, prepare for rough water!
Guy in crow's nest: Captain, there's more!!!
Captain: What do you mean?
Guy in crow's nest: about 50 yards out after they merge, there appears to be . . . a WATERFALL!!!
Captain: All hands! Prepare for
