Planet Coaster modding... Is it possible?

remember how we used to be able to pick guests up and toss them around?? fun times [big grin]

I honestly miss that and am sad that it isn't in the game yet [sad]

Teaching guests not to complain about our awesome parks was part of the fun. Evil.. but fun. [big grin]

Does this mean we can get rid of the pesky restrictions? Like track length, curve size, loop size, etc, etc? That would be awesome.

Well it worked for the Connie Express so I don't see why it wouldn't for other track rides and coasters. [big grin]

That would be awesome. Part of the annoyance for me when coaster building is those restrictions!

^ This Frontier. THIS. Look at it.

I'm still hoping that they remove a lot of the coaster restrictions/allow shorter minimum segment length (shorter MSL on everything, even tracked rides) in the Anniversary Update. It is unlikely, but it needs to happen soon.

It is a known issue, but for some reason Frontier keeps adding more and more restrictions to coasters. Working months on a no-collision option is great but when coaster trains can intersect its suddenly a bad thing.......... Ah well, what do I know about programming. /s

Curiosity of how much this work has done to game stability? Collisions themselves maybe workable but im curious about tweaks to the AI systems in the game. The so called "smart brain" Curious what tweaks to that would do to freezing ect....

you misunderstood, my game runs as good as the game can considering my hardware limitations. My worry is adding content compromising my existing stability...

Depending upon the mod and who did it in previous games I've see said stability change greatly. Im sure the case would be similar here. Just curious from Gregors previous work if stability became an issue...

Oh thats definitely true. As of the 2 mods gregor showed, it seems stability is fine. Changing the menu screen seems rather simple, but when it comes to track changes, well we know that they probably wont work with the workshop (then again, maybe that will change)

So how is the progress going?

I'm currently in the process of developing some tools for .ovl editing, though its still in its very early stages and not something I can yet release for other people. Slowly but surely progress is being made though. [big grin]

Thats awesome news. I'm sure i'm not the only one that cannot wait to see and hear more about this. I wish you all the luck.
