Starting from Barnyard, how come the announcement of next DLC pack after previous took six months from like now onwards instead of three to four months?

As I said, I guess what bugs me the most is getting less bang for my buck these days. I appreciate Frontier being in a rough spot and all, but that doesn't mean I need to accept extreme low budget choices (Coyote, Bighorn) over something at least slightly better like a squirrel monkey (with sound work!! The donkey situation reminds me I have to stretch this).
Speaking of soundwork: For me Coyotes sound VERY different from wolfs and other Canines. Like VERY. But I highly doubt that will be represented in the game, which makes the "cheap" clone even worse.
Limited dev team with low resources due to late game life cycle.
Understaffed + transfer of PC DLCs to console.
Everyone has a right to their opinion and I'm really not in the business of minimizing anyone's feelings, but idk... I wasn't expecting the vibes to be this negative today.
For the first time ever we get two birds in an animal pack. Not one, but TWO from the continental Americas, finally nullifying one of the game's biggest missteps. One of which is arguably the most requested of its respected region.
A return of New World monkeys - without question, one of the most requested niches - after a five year long absence.
ONE ungulate compared to the usual overrepresentation of 3 to 4.
And above all, the most requested global region is finally having its debut pack!

Of course. I did not sday it was not. I even expressed my own dissapointment with no Coati as my initial reaction. I just think that some replies here are almost hysterical. And sure, people can be hysterial over whatever they want, I was just suprised by the amount of it. Like, alot of people expressed that they like the animals just not in one pack...well I say, will it really matter in the long run? Will it matter that much that a Tasmanian Devil came in Oceania and not in Australia? The Coati can still come in a later pack, we just do not know.... We have been there for so many times...Oh, this was the last chance the X could have made it in....only to X show up one or two packs later.
I am sorry if I have offended anyone. It is just that this never ending complains and drama takes away from my excitement....It is as if people cannot at least appreciate what we are getting instead of wallowing in negativness of what we did not get.
I won't even go into the animal selection as I think it is self explanatory.
I will note though that the bar is getting lower and lower. That fur on the coyote is, quite frankly, embarrasing, and should not be PZ DLC standards, unless that's the new standard of course, which, after the Eurasian pack, I believe it may be. I am sorry for the artists involved, nothing against them, it's more so the people who are responsible not only of a questionable animal selection but also the quality standards.
I will wait to see the construction pieces but this might actually be first pack I won't ever buy, not even on discount.

I'm very happy we know what we're getting soon! Honestly, I think it's a pretty good pack, albeit with some questionable decisions.
So far, this is my rating:
Overall a decent pack, with the exception that some obvious headliners were overlooked. Also having two dogs is overkill, but then at least one of them is very unique. I'd gladly pay to replace two of these species for a coati and mara, but it's what it is. And for what it is, rather than what it isn't, it's pretty good.
So far, this is my rating:
- White-faced Saki: The best thing out of this pack. We get another South-American monkey and it's the one that was top of my list. It looks wonderful too. 10/10
- Greater Rhea: Another animal that was really missing. It looks amazing in the trailer! Perfect addition to this pack, also given its versatility. Just a shame we didn't get the mara. 10/10
- American Flamingo: Assuming it will look as good as the rhea, I'm glad with this addition. Yes, it's a 'clone', but a much needed one. And another bird. 8/10
- Ocelot: Not my preferred South-American pick, but still a welcome addition to any Amazon section. And it looks amazing! 7/10
- Bush Dog: Quite a surprising addition, but one that was in high demand. And it's quite a unique animal by appearance and behaviour. 7/10
- Bighorn Sheep: I don't see myself using this animal soon, but I loved seeing them in Burgers' Zoo, and I'm happy they made it to the game. 7/10
- Coyote: Big meh for me, but happy for the people who wanted it. Not much else to say about it really. 5/10
- Scenery: Have yet to see most of it, but from what I've seen it's really good. I love that it's not just 'Western' themed and we get a bit of Mexico representation finally. Also I feel like this pack has done more for South America than the South America pack ever did, considering how useful the scenery is for zoos in that region. 9/10
- Campaign: I never played campaign so usually I don't rate this, but I feel like the redemption arc is a nice little touch, and perhaps also a sign that we're really reaching the end.

Yeah we got 2 birds, but short of the humboldt penguin they are the most boring and samey feeling ones that were available.
Monkey is amazing, not gonna argue that. Does some very heavy lifting here and is more or less the only reason im gonna eventually get the pack, although ill probably gonna wait for a sale.
To be honest the ungulates and carnivorans just kinda switched places here, and to top it off the most requested one got left out
True, but for me a revisit to SA was my most requested theme because there were alot of animals i wanted, so having that theme basicly without the animals i actually wanted is just dissapointing.
Obviously everyone has their opinions, and im glad for the people who enjoy, but the reasons above are why this pack just is kind of a nothingburger for me.

I am a bit worried now about the sexual dimorphism in the Saki, after I took a closer look at RL examples. If they really did not create a propper female, that is a new low of quality standards and , quite frankly, would be unacceptable.

The first image we got of the Proboscis Monkey showed two males, yet nobody said anything back then.

Yeah surprised by where this is comming from too. As if they could have not show two males in the screenshot. It is not uncommon that we only got to see only one sex in the initial animal screenshots.
I like the pack but... We just trade the ungulates for cats and dogs. Coyote is probably the worst ofender because at least the bush dog is very particular and unique for a canids. One can argue about the cultural relevance of the coyote but with the coati in front of the line for an american carnivoran is probably the worst choice out of the there. At least ocelote expands through out the Américas and the bush dog gave something unique to the Amazon rainforest.

ZKs was full of animals that were high in the Metawishlists just not the top 3. Something id telling me secretary, tree roo and coati are being saved for the very true final DLC
I totally get that, I was speaking in general since it's an attitude I see around the forums a lot; my post wasn't targeted towards you at all, and I'm so sorry if you felt that way! I do think those feelings are totally valid though and I do think people tend to be a bit overdramatic about it, It definitely dampens the mood sometimes.
I will say that I do think a lot of choices Frontier makes matter now more than ever though, when we're getting fewer packs per year and are left constantly guessing if the next one is going to be the last. I don't think all hope is lost on the coati quite yet, though, and hopefully, we'll get it someday.
People always do this, worry that XYZ is wrong from looking at one or two images, when in-game it actually looks amazing or there is simply a non-issue.
I am sure there will be a female saki model and I am sure the coyote will be excellent. The fur always renders a bit funny in still life images, we've seen that happen with teaser / trailer images for the last three packs and it looks
Also, while the coyote may not look perfect (to me it looks just fine), the other animals we've seen look perfect, especially the rhea.
We shouldn't worry too much IMO. I'm sure the bush dog will look great

But I understand that not everyone uses mods ofc.
It's just sad that back in the day Frontier animals were usually better than mods. But as of today that's arguably hardly ever the case. And with people like Ayano pulling off flying animations or Gabboi, monsoon and the like being fur masters and then you see that fur on the coyote and the animal selection that clearly screams: "we'll do what we can with barely any resources but still sell it at usual price to this crazy (and loyal) animal nerd community, they will buy anything we throw at them anyway".
I mean they don't even care to write the OP title properly. C'mon
