Planet Zoo - Update 1.0.3

Hi it would be great if we could get the same options that we now have in sandbox for the offline mode as well, I like to play with some items disabled like the herd size and aggression ect and yes whilst I can just play in sandbox I still very much want to have to balance the books. I feel that useing unlimited money removes all need for any deep planing as you never have to worry about going bankrupt.
But I want to be forced to have a sustainable zoo whilst being able to control the game play options.

What would be really great is if you would give us the scenario editor that you built for planet coaster that would be the best outcome as people really loved to have that level of flexibility within the game.

Like really the only part of the game that needs to be protected from these options is the online play I get that so please let us play the game the way we want to play it in the ofline modes please,

Thank you Frontier, what a massive effort and so many amazing fixes!!

Could we please get the option to turn off plant coverage maximums in sandbox (and other modes)? I’d love to have more freedom in habitat design.

Actually, if it’s possible, I would really love to have all sandbox options for challenge mode as well. Thanks for reading!

The Refunds are way too much. I just checked the Happiness of my Guests. Just like before the Update almost everyone is green in the Heatmap. Except some of the Needs. If they are happy, they shouldn't want refunds all the time. I've already built a lot more Food- and Drink-Shops and I'm still losing Money all the time. I've had more than 1.000.000,00$ before the Update. Now I have only 101.069,46$ and I fear, I will soon have no Money left

Thanks for all the feedback you've given us after 1.0.3 - we're working on some quick fixes now and will let you know ASAP when we have the next update ready; thanks for your patience ❤

Hang in there, Bo, it's going to be a rough day. Hopefully, the fix for the fix won't make things even worse. I wasn't having many problems before the patch but now the game isn't playable for me so I'm not so sure. Can you pass a word onto upper management for me and tell them to allow the Devs time to do some testing before they release the next fix? Responding quickly backfires when your fix makes things worse. We're not still in beta but it sure feels like it right now.

You might want to check if your guests are going on staff paths. Sensing staff buildings and utilities will make them mad and leave, really fast. That's one of the big issues so far and is what is keeping me from loading up my game until a patch is made. Can't afford to have angry guests.

Hi Frontier.

Just to telling you the cost of the food will clearly destroy your game. It's like 15 times more than usual i never had a negatif account ($) and now I have -100000 $ per year. I have a big zoo with a lot of thing and never have a problem before but now I will just stop playing because my Zoo will crash until there is a fix. I'm in franchise mode. I have try to upgrade the price of entrance, set high the price of attraction or all my shops but everybody left the zoo. I understand that was cheap before but really 15 is it a joke ?
I clearly think everybody will left their game until it will fix then do something because it's impossible.

I have 8000 people on the parc with a 5 stars. A lot of animals if i wanna be on the green I need to sell all of my pets then after have no one on the parc.

Really ? Do something before it's too late.

Exemple : My African Lion's food cost are now 30K per feeding. Before that was 2K per feeding.
Exemple : Optimization are now broken it's impossible to have them 100% with lion per exemple (i have research to maximum for them)

It's now per feed, and displaying for all of them. Before it wasn't displaying correctly. As for losing money, you're probably losing it all through refunds by guests walking on staff pathways.

There seem to be no Guests on Staff-Paths. I think I will play one of my other Zoos until the next Update.

It's gonna be a long week for you guys, community managers.... have courage.... most of us know it's not yours or nor even the devs fault.
Q-C is not an optional procedure - I know we all hate to do it, it's long and boring, but it's important. Management need a good woopin !!!

Exactly right. Fast response is only good if it works. Frontier management seems to think we are here to do their QC testing.

Hey there. The actual cost you are paying in your zoo shouldn't have changed. Prior to this update there was a visual bug which showed the food cost on the UI as much lower than you were actually being charged. It now shows the correct number on the UI but is the same amount being taken in payments from your finances.

We are aware that some zoos are now reporting a higher percentage of refunds than they were previously and we are looking into these.

Ok then i accept no problem with that but actually i just left the game until the fix. You are confirming this isn't normal the way all the players are charge ?
I spent a lot of time on the game i accept there is a visual bug before but now we are just charge too much and if we run our zoo then it's the crash.

Really hope that the fix will become soon we pay the game for enjoy not being crashed by bêta test.
I admit you are not the dev and it isn't your job but why not try a closed bêta test when lauching a new update for know all the bug before the release.. ?

PS : Sorry for my bad english - french player X) ...

I was pretty excited when I saw the list of updates too - until I played the game. Most of it just doesn't work. I set guests to always be happy - but got protesters - on a staff path. What were they protesting? The starving and severely dehydrated animals in my safari habitat - even though I disabled animal welfare. In the space of about an hour that I played last night I had 27 animals get pregnant, give birth and the babies all reach maturity before I had a chance to even see most of them as babies. Some of these new mothers were over 100 years old. I had to put the entire zoo on birth control to stop the madness. In trying to do this I opened my zoo - animals menu and tried to sort by species - got an empty list. The zoo was overrun with vandalism and litter. I shut down the game before any more damage was done. The only problem I had before the patch was hungry & thirsty animals in the safari, which came and went, never got to critical protester status.

The "bug" / problem with high feeding costs has been discussed many times before e.g. here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/animal-feed-cost-explosion.529024
Your zoo is nearly large as mine, so I can answer this very well-founded. The problem is the balancing of the game. After you have 10-15 different species in your zoo and you add more species, the growth in additional income (tickets and donations) is much smaller than the growth in feeding costs. This especially applies when you add species like lions, gorillas, macaques, giant pandas, elephants with above-average feeding costs. The only thing, which works, is to reduce the number of animals from each species. In my case: three adult of each: elephants, gorillas, orangutans and not like 6-8. I did that and since then I have a large surplus.
The largest problem imo regarding this problem is that the game implies much larger numbers (especially by the numbers in Zoopedia, which are not meant economic-wise). And annual feedings costs differ a lot from year to year, thus are hard to track. And there is no other mechanism in the game, which teaches players this.
Bottom line: I like the game being quite difficult long-term but it has to teach players better. And what I don't like about that: You aren't able to run a large zoo having large herds of elephants or orangutans (this only works in zoos with up to approx. 10 different species).

Good update but i wish they had fixed how you have to reset the perks every time in the staff rest rooms when you start up your zoo . Also i wish the keepers would concentrate first on feeders rather then poop a scooping

Thanks for the update! :D
However, since the update it seems that there are not a lot of animals in the Market in Challenge Mode. I’ve been wanting to buy a pair of pangolins for ages since my last pair died of old age, but they never seem to show up in the Market? I’ve been playing for about half an hour and not one pangolin has showed up in the Market. It also seems to be occurring with other species. Didn’t have this issue before the update. Does anyone else have this issue? (It’s in Challenge Mode!)

Untested patches that break stable zoos are unacceptable, I've played beta games that have better patches, Satisfactory for one. Feedback: please stop outsourcing your patch development to Electronic Arts.

Before the patch I was making 100k a year, I had $2.1mil in my zoo, I'm loosing $150k a year now, and down to $1.1mil, I've removed a TON of animals, my lions (had 11 down to 3) now cost 98k a year to feed, while my 22 elephants cost 12k a year to feed. When are you announcing your company has been purchased by Electronic arts?
