Planet Zoo - Update 1.1.2

I really think they changed more about Education than the Speakers. Now a lot of Guests aren't very good educated and I'm pretty sure the Education was previously on the highest level. I hope I will find out how to make it better

Please let us turn off toy enrichment degradation, I don't want to be swapping out toys every 10 minutes... ☹

I second that. Even if you set aging to 5 times slower, they still get bored very fast from their toys. Plus, as I said in another thead, it's not realistic to swap out lagrer enrichment items like a waterfall or a mud bath. I'd love to be able to switch these things of, as I work it into scenery.

Good for us all youre not a dev on this game.. Assumptions are nothing to be proud of.... ;)

No need to get salty. Pride has nothing to do with it. As far as I can tell performance is updated with every patch in some small way. The number of people reporting crashes has gotten smaller and smaller. No doubt there are still bugs, but honestly, are you certain it's a game issue? I only ask because when I first got the game I experienced loading-crashes and whatnot, but that was on my girlfriend's computer which is a year old. I bought myself a new computer at long last and now I only experience occasional crashes that I can chalk up to my own actions (like building too much when the game is paused).

I don't think it is the age alone? My computer is almost four years old and handles the game very well on high to ultra settings. I had maybe three crashes in 150 hours or so.

Well, I also got the infinite loading with my favourite franchise zoo like a bit over a week ago and this time deleting save files did not slove it. And this update sadly didnt, either. I dont know if it has to do with my specs, but I highly doubt it - the other zoos load just fine and my performance is actually very good, it only really gets a bit laggy with 9 -10k + visitors. But the zoo I lost wasnt even that big yet.

My specs are:

i7-8700K
GTX 1070 Ti
16 GB Ram

I know it isnt the newest stuff anymore, but should still be good enough^^

Anyways, there is a thing I noticed and I dont know if its only me, but the offline modes seem to work much better/smooth than franchise. I dont think I ever had a crash in sandbox or carrer, while it does happen regulary in franchise (luckily not as much as it did for me during beta)

So if the players who have no problems whatsoever only/manily play offline, I can understand that they dont understand others have problems (and those mainly with franchise)

Again, I dont know if my specs could cause it, but for me it mostly seems to be a franchise problem.

Unrelated to that, its a minor thing and there since the "albino" pics were updated, but seems like its still missed, for the white zebras the pictures are mostly wrong. Adult male zebras display the foal pic, colts the adult pics and females both share the adult pic;)

It tells a lot about devs if 1 year old computer cannot handle the game...

Not really. My girlfriend's old computer wasn't the flashest. It was able to run The Sims 4 to a certain point. I uninstalled that and a lot of other crap on there that she didn't use or need anymore to make room for Planet Zoo but it still didn't run. My new laptop is gaming-grade and Zoo is literally the only game on it (except Megaquarium). It was pretty clearly an issue with the computer, not the game's development.

I understand the urge to blame the devs, because getting a new computer is no easy thing (I had to put mine on hire-purchase, thank god my credit rating is just good enough) and you'd definitely want to explore every option before resorting to forking out that much money. I guess the only other solution is to send the save file to the devs, which I believe can be done, and see if they can work out what's going wrong. Or try and open it on someone else's computer that has better specs.

This Post tells alot about you not knowing much about Computers. ^^

Mine is 8 Years old and in 70 Hours i NEVER got one crash or Bug. Even playing 10 Hours at once no problem.

I dont think it has anything to do with "blaming the devs", afterall most here arent complaining that the game dosent run, but that certain save files suddenly wont load anymore.

Like for myself, I run the game on ultra settings and it usually runs very well, but I still lost a zoo to the loading bug and have some other bugs sometimes aswell as occasional crashes with franchise zoos. Thats a difference from not being able to run PZ at all.

It dosent really happen with sandbox and the other offline modes, so I do think it is mostly/only a franchise issue.

I did post my specs above, so if anyone thinks my PC is not good enough anymore and thats the reason one special file wont load anymore, then please tell me. But I really dont think so.

And that's the thing. I don't know jack about computers - all I know is that on Computer A it didn't work, and on Computer B it did.

I'm more referring to the people who consider the game "unplayable". If it's working in offline modes, then it's not unplayable, and if it's one specific save file that won't work, then instead of saying "I'm never playing again until this one save file is fixed!" maybe just start another zoo.

Bug.jpg

Does someone else experience this?
This did never happen in this Zoo until a few Minutes ago

Okay, thats a point. Though I am not one of those who say the game is unplayable, but it does really take the enjoyment of the game if a you worked on a zoo for 100+ hours (or even less, it dosent really matter) and then it suddenly becomes unloadable.... I am not at this point yet, but I do understand if it makes others so fed up they will stop playing. And I cant deny there is the fear it will happen again to another zoo... Too bad I prefer franchise - sandbox would be more stable, I guess. (But not to understand me wrong, my franchise is mostly stable, but there still are some issues which can be bothering)

Anyways, the thing that made people react that way on here is actually that its not helpful to advise people to get a new PC when theirs just runs the game fine, but just one or two save files get corrupted and wont load anymore, pointing that out is actually helpful I think and not blaming anyone.
If they would say they cant play the game at all, then I would agree, though. But both are not the same thing.

Ye I don't think the loading screen bug has anything to do with your PC as it only affects one zoo while the other ones work just fine (exept for the lag when the zoo gets too big). And that bug is certainly game breaking! it's not just "build another zoo". First of, the zoo you lost (like mine) might have been your biggest "main" zoo. And secondly, there is still a possibility that your new zoo will get the same bug and be lost too. And starting new zoo's over and over just cause you keep loosing them takes away alot of fun from this game. Right now I think this is THE biggest issue with the game

People reporting crashes is still high see steam forums. I gave up playing the game due to the crashes and my pc is higher then the recommend. Great game but one crash too many after 190 hours is enough. With the player numbers on steam falling quickly maybe others feel the same.
