I'm 47,000LY from Sol and 27,000LY from Jaques.

I really wish I hadn't played the Far Harbour DLC right about now.... Anyhoo... sign me up for Camp Jaques. I'll go scouting for meta alloys when I get there. God knows I've got enough experience flying and driving around planets by now.

Ha, I just asked FleetComm admin to do the same. Oh well :)

You already have a permanent channel on the array (TS) as well if you need it.

For those explores on the Sag-car mission, it is a side trip as shown below so if you need any exploration data, it is a good option if we can sell data there to help restock his navigation databases.

This show of unity and support is lovely. But it reminds me of the marshmallow test.

Will Explorers support SEPP and get 2 marshmallows? Or will they gobble up the single Jaques in a fit of low-blood-sugar induced savagery??

Lets not miss the gorilla in the room because of myopic immediacy of a long awaited cool nuance in deep space:

Please guys n gals, remember we need your support. Odds on the games won't be explorer related. I'm guessing on mining and combat, probably trade. If you really want a safe haven for explorers, let Jacques wait for a few weeks. Lets get SEPP in its rightful place as a power and then Ill personally come ferry goods and mine out there with you.

Agreed to this! Please do this I'll still be here as will this thread. do support SEPP.

I may come out later as the situation develops, providing escort to transports and explorers nearby the system, its a long trip, 14kly drove me crazy, but I might help.

I will probably wait until repair/reload systems are back up, I might just head all the way out there.

Good luck. o7

We would still need to intervene as bases are not automatically created, but we will be keeping an eye on what players do there - after all it was players who caused him to end up where he is!

Michael

so miners and combat pilots should be heading out, we cant hand in exploration data, but given theres a human settlement there any system within i think its 600ly should have a higher ratio of crashed npc ships and the like and all the random loot that goes with that. So srv pilots should begin selling legal acquired goods back to jacques all manner of loot so he can begin to build a market, self repair and maybe build a few support outposts etc where his 750 npc colonists can begin to breed like rabbits and when 2.2 comes around we can begin taking colonist passangers out there to boost the population and establish bubble mk2

it would be nice to have a CG so we can repair the universal cartographics and sell exploration data under the guise of jacques figuring out where he is. That would give deep space explorers a base of operations and provide futher impetous for colonisation efforts. For now we need miners and guards and haulers

Where are the rockrats when we need them

This is a great idea!! Thanks Olivia and Erimus!!

Right before the Dangerous Games!! Yay!!

Excellent teamwork in this community!

Haha, this sounds exactly like Explorers.

Given the choice of:

1. Hang around in a big blob and do some coordinated game thing in populated space, or
2. Fly 22,000 LY into the unknown, relying on half-done game mechanics, to do something weird in a very lonely place

...I'd expect option #2 to get chosen every time. :p

FOLKS I HAVE SOME BAD NEWS FOR MINERS HEADING TO JAQUES STATION

image.jpg

Based on this screenshot from CMDR Carmey on Fleetcomm who just arrived at Jaques Station. The station will no longer require refined metals.

This means metal minings have no place on Distant Station: Into the Abyss. This sortie will only requires explorers to hopefully find barnacles nearby and long distance haulers to haul meta-alloys back to the station. Whether from 22,000lys or 220 ly.

I apologise for any distress or inconvenience this has caused miners who have already began heading out that way but until this can be verified by a second source it appears metals are no longer required at Jaques Station like previously seen in CMDR Cly's screenshots.

That is all.

- station services can only be improved temporarily

- maximum expansion distance after investment is unknown, but cooper research and anthill mob around maia have already shown, that it beats the known limitations, and that you don't need to sell exploration data to happen... we will know more soon (e.g. after anthills current investment phase).

- i could imagine, jaques is hardcoded not to expand, because it is a 1 faction system, but i assumed the same about cooper research, and they have expanded.

I would expect it won't Expand, at least fail then go into Investment and that fail too, as it has nowhere to expand too. Call me crazy, but I'm sure the Investment state expansion sphere of potential systems doesn't extend to 22kLy, and for a faction to expand, it needs a populated system to expand too!

As Erimus says, it's all pure roleplay, FD will have there plan of where this is leading too. And we will find out in due coarse. Maybe this is the prep phase for the update of passenger missions as the population of Jaques is miniscule at the momoent. Just thought I'd throw that one out there!

So, Jaques jumped to BP with loads of UA, and then was "dropped off" not even a halfway to it, BUT near the nebula... UAs felt homesick of some kind? Maybe, just maybe there will be new barnacle sites nearby soon...

That said, the station is in lockdown. Once it's cleared with meta-alloys (presumably), it should have a more normal commodity market. I don't know if Jaques had outfitting before, but if you want to provide metals you probably need to bring any mining gear with you.

So it'll be okay?

Edit:

Clearing a station with meta-alloys is not an automated process. It requires intervention from FD to get the station back up and running. This is a fool's errand right now as it was loaded to the gills with meta-alloys before jumping out because UA bombing was happening. We're just playing a story right now and the next chapter isn't even ready.

Not entirely impossible. However it is clear that meta-alloys will help. There's no indication what, if anything, might be needed other than that (or how/when the station will be cleared).

@Neotron.

Well played. Distracting Explorers from the Dangerous Games so that your non-explorer ganker group (Galcop) can knock out a faction without too much effort. Deceptive and smooth. You suit your new faction very well.

So, it sounds like we don't need mining gear now, just deliver meta alloys and then find some barnacles out in that nebula to continue delivering meta alloys. Makes outfitting my Asp much easier!

I think I'll wait until tomorrow to see what the Dangerous Games CG's will be, and if I can help SEPP then I will, and head out for Jacques afterwards. That's my tentative plan as of now.
