Please, make kerbs on paths toggleable!

Not only this, but the black/yellow kerbs actually work in keeping guests away from certain areas. I mean, in the end it's not the biggest deal at this very moment, as I'm sure it'll all be fixed at some point in the future, but it's one of my pet peeves having guests walking through scenery and other objects.

For this there are still barriers you can place underground. So the black/yellow kerbs are missing, but i feel they were really weird since they had this overflow mechanic: you can not walk here unless it is crowded, barrier fences just simply stop guests.

That's good to know. Do the barriers actually work? I was under the impression they don't at the moment.

I think you are starting to mix things up my friends. We are talking about the kerbs on paths, the borderstones that surround the paths. Not about kerbs or barriers that block guests :)

I just want to slide them underground on broad paths and plaza grounds to keep them from walking through scenery or into areas that aren't supposed to be accessible to guests.
That works, it's just if you scale them up to minimise piece count or something, guests would still walk through the edges of the barrier, something to keep in mind.

Had to redo hundreds of meters of burrowed barriers when I found that out 😅

I just got reminded of this thread and it honestly is starting to annoy me with how tone deaf frontier is being. by all means curbs could easily be implemented, they already have the system down for fences! just remove the 'curb' part of the path model and add it as an option under path extras. curbless paths should be the default, and it's mind boggling that they can add stuff as advanced as restraunts but it's 'hard' to do something that by all accounts has the framework already built into the game.

Got this crushing answer today:

"It's a substantial amount of work to make this happen to a quality level we'd be happy with and the community would be happy with. Right now, there are no plans to add a toggle (as suggested in this thread), but I've fed back to the team the request for kerbless paths."

That is devestating news. Actually a "small" thing like this is a super big thing for me to even return to the game that I otherwise adore.

ugh....no offense, but i finally found the steam thread,
(@devs for the love that is holy, please dont answer those things in a obscure steam forum, when you have one of you own with a better structure or share the info, but if i hadn't found it by chance the info would be gone for me)

and please quote everything, not just the last part, since there are at least two explanation:

so all in all, kerbless path seem to be more complicated than 'we think' and it is not a priority rn. This answer let me just hope that they look at it somewhere after may.
Seriously, frontier, you have an official forum, USE IT!

It is a thing we have to accept. If it would be easy they already done it, we as users got our answers, it is probably down to the new pathing system, where it isn't that easy to accumulate.

OF course we can wave our theories around it and everything, but the important thing is, the energy we are spending on this could probably better invested elsewhere. They acknowledged the issue and sometimes a "no can do" is the answer we have to accept. If someone has the easy answer please send your cv to frontier as they are probably more capable than the original devs who has looked into this.

Hopefully they will soon acknowledge that they are working on it. Crazy how its taking 6 months to fix

I fully agree it's a much requested feature and it can be frustrating it can't be implemented right away.
However, be very carefull with statements like this. Frontier already responded by saying :

This clearly indicates it is not as simple as you make it out to be. Don't try to overrule the developers who make the game.

Firstly, I have to say that a kerbs toggle isn't important to me...

But it's hard to hear that they don't have any plans to implement this (in PC1 well working) feature, again.

I'm sad because of needing to get negative again...

Between the lines I can read that they aren't able to add it. Not because of dev time (as it's written), more because of lacking expertise and therefore they just gave it up... (?)

This might be a bad sign for the future of the game...
Is all passion for the series gone after PZ or is it just sold from above?

I'm very irritated of which way it will take... Not being able to fix issues quickly (if ever), skipping some previous features, but adding others and new ones at the same time.

When reading such comments from Frontier, I'm not sure if they are really interested in fixing all existing issues, at all...

I think this is why we won't get a statement about an issue fixing list, too.

We could go a step further and ask, what is the level of quality frontier is aiming for?
The same quality as custom audio coming into the game but no beeing available for rides? Or the quality of delivering the rest of the feature in the update after but then breaking all custom audio on speakers?
Or maybe the quality that was needed to greenlight the game in this incomplete state prior to release?
Its one thing to say the development of said feature needs time, its another thing to talk about quality while a lot of the community are criticising the lack of quality up untill this point in time.

I totally understand where you coming from, we aint devs and we cant judge on such things. But to give any value towards the words of frontier, atleast for me personally, just feels off atm.
