PMFs: data, charts, and the coming galactic player wars...

Quick FYI and Sacra Oculus controls 37 systems and 97 landable assets. Our location in https://i.imgur.com/eD9gtMP.png may be incorrect. :)

I base all my charts and maps on the daily data dump from EDDB.io which is as accurate as the data it has, and collectively gathered from CMDRs flying around with tools like EDMC and EDDiscovery, etc. However, certain assets are rarely if ever visited (like settlements or undockable installations), and of course, data is only updated when visited by a CMDR running one of these tools, which is certainly not everybody, and only works on PC as well.

In any case, you can update assets in systems yourself via the ROSS website. If you look at a systems minor factions page and scroll down it says:

"<system> has missing or wrong info? Wanna help us to improve the data quality? Read the FAQ and Fix it on ROSS!" with relevant links

As it says, read the FAQ, make an account, and fix it on Ross. That helps everybody, not least the accuracy of these maps! We ourselves make updates frequently, if visiting isn't feasible.

Great work as always Mangal!

Quick clarification on updating via ROSS. After 3.3 you can no longer updater faction influence or change the controlling faction. Having spoken to the devs of it this is as intended and won't change.

As an xbox only faction our data on eddb is always a month or so behind our actual state (we now control 12 stations for example)

C'est la vie

Thank You again, Mangal Oemie! As a Likedeeler, I send congratulations to Wolf 406 Transport & Co for the big growth of population.

EDSM now works with consoles and the data they're getting keeps improving.

End of the month, so .....

Another data sheet! Some interesting stuff in there this month, as groups are coming to grips with new BGS. With today's BGS update right in time for the coming month!

Also in the sig below, as well as previous data sheets.

And always: thank you for your work Mangal!

Our minor faction is putting everything to stay at the top of the ranking. We play it with the Dukes of Mikonn.

But most important: slowly, but inexorably, we are getting closer to the goal.

Well, BGS'ers... this one is definitely for the nerds, but since they're all (roughly) top 10s, too, maybe it has wider appeal. The idea behind these radar charts is to get a sense for the economic foundation for the various PMFs in the galaxy. For each faction I check their assets, and we take the top 10. We then loop through the stations to get their economies. Count it all up.

I then normalize the various economy types against the maximum number of that type in the set, as their numbers are quite unbalanced, and this way you can at least still see things. 100% on each axis matches the list of maximum of each type below the charts.

Here's just the overall top 10 as a taster. There are 21 of them :D

Nice chart, but no Military or Colony or Terraforming ports? Or do they get lumped in with another category?

Tho its kind of funny none of the top 10 have a Service port.

When I initially looked into it, Terraforming was so rare it doesn't make sense to include it. Service barely made it in, only because I happened to find some. Prison Colony economy wasn't worth it, but I should check again for Military and Colony...

EDIT: yep... this is embarrassing :D -- it's getting late, so I guess tomorrow I will replace the others, but here is at least the overall...

Service-economy stations are incredibly rare in the Sol bubble. There are more Service economies in Colonia than in the entire Alliance (and the Alliance has a lot of them, for its size).

Interesting to compare with the station economies in general in the Sol bubble - https://cdb.sotl.org.uk/regions - it'd be interesting to see the same graphs normalised to the general percentages: which factions have more Extraction and less Refinery than a random sampling of 30 assets would give?

phew, this took some effort, but all charts are re-worked to include all economies, and the v2 album is ready :D

24 of them in the set, now

You're giving me ideas... :)
