I'm actually lost for words.... STUNNING! Oh, there's a word. AMAZING! And there's another...

Great work guys!!! Just waiting on any news of the Saitek X-55 before I order.

Gobsmacked.

Right, that's enough... back to YouTube for another watch :D

Thanks for the info kinderman .. Oh dear looks like I will have to fall back on my old microsoft sidewinder:eek:

Overclockers.co.uk did have 1 in stock about an hour ago, gone now, probably one of you guys! ;)

Listed in stock here for £130

Personally I'm just going to use an Xbox controller until the new Saitek is properly revealed and see what's what then.

Edit: Also listed in stock (but discontinued?) here for £120.

I'll give them until the alpha is out then get a refund .. then maybe wait for that new X55 :)

Fantastic update and I can't wait for alpha! And the best part is that even though the stuff we've seen is amazing, this game will include so much, much more. Super cruise, hyperspace jumps, trading, landing in space stations and the list goes on and on. 2014 will be a year to remember, gaming wise.

Perhaps there can be some tessellated debris field effects added as space junk flies past your ship and then can disappear gradually into the void. Just my 2c.

*runs back in glee to watch the update video for the 100th time* :D:cool::)

Anything o long as its not the X-Afterbirth solution, rubber spaceship remains that bounce off you.

Hud!

Here's the SC HUD prototype from the recent vid.

Have to say its very busy and maybe dedliberately old school (in the vid it can be seen to 'retract' somewhat). Much prefer the Elite holo!

One thing thats interesting though. SC have chosen to place the HUD on your helmet, not in the cockpit, so crucially it follows your head movement around. This might need to be an option too in ED?

We're going to notice lots of new users very soon I'd say. :)

Just saw there is no Saitek X52Pro for left handers. :( there goes that. ($AUD236 here from ebay)
Just had a look at mine - I think the main stick wouldn't cause you any problems, but the throttle unit is definitely made for the left hand only. :(

I love what you're showing off here, the hard work, vision and skill on display are all so astonishingly beautiful. :)

Thrustmaster sold another hotas tonight.

Fantastic new vid. Just what we asked for (again). Seeing things as they develop (and some of the ideas you are playing with) is just great.

I love you guys. FD are

In the same way you can use a mouse with left or right hand (it just takes a few days to get used to it), can't you just use one of these joysticks like a right hander? My daughter is a lefty (she uses the mouse or joystick with her right hand and can even make notes or use her digitiser pad with her left hand simultaneously). She has even got me using the mouse with my left hand so I can write with my right hand at the same time at work.

Me thinks FD should be speaking to Thrustmaster about an Elite branded stick personally. Potential sales in the 100,000s has to be worth the effort ;)

Good spot. If true, then I think the X-55 will replace the X-52 while they continue to sell the X-52 Pro at a lower price point. Can't find it now, but someone in this thread said another supplier said they would get more X-52 Pro stock after Christmas. As the X-55 is supposed to be out before Christmas, this would make sense.

Shame that I don't think I'll get my X-55 before the alpha is available :(

There was a detail mentioned in the video that caught my attention. There's a quick mention about the workspace being linked to the pilot around 4.35 or so. I seem to remember a picture from the recent newsletter showing a pilot with a "HUD" of sorts spinning around his/her head. Am I right in assuming that the HUD/AR display will follow us around when we're able to walk around our ships? That would be pretty neat.

Thanks a bunch, FD. There were a whole load of things I wanted to get done tonight and I haven't done most of them now and it's nearly bedtime!
