Pulse Wave Analyser Fix

cool. is this the first time you ever officially acknowledge that there is an issue at all? because months ago, when i looked for official posts about this issue here on the forums, i haven't found any. you know how awful this was? not knowing what was going on. players literally thought this was an intended nerf to mining. it was a big reason why i took a break from the game, because core mining was absolutely not fun anymore. if this wasn't bad enough, your lack of communication made that a lot more worse that it should have been.

This fix -- much applause on behalf of those who needed it -- will this fix break my PWA which has never once shown the problems so thoroughly described by others? I generally subscribe to the "If it ain't broke don't fix it" philosophy, and mine currently ain't broke. Can I expect that to change come Wednesday?

Thanks, Bruce, to you AND your entire team. Please extend our gratitude throughout.

No doubt you know but, sometimes, it's nice to hear someone say it and, I think, at this time, and on this issue, this is a good place to do so.
We know you're busy. We know it wasn't easy. We expected you were doing your best and, ultimately, we knew you wouldn't let us down.
Thank you for being a shining example, much like the miners' beloved Pulse Wave Analyzer, and helping become a bright spot in such a dark space. Though 2020 will be remembered for a long time as a year of much deeper darkness, people showing up, even if it's just to open the doors, make a pot of coffee, roll up their sleeves and get to work, have proven that, truly, where there is a will there is a way and no task is a small task when it means so much to so many. It may be just a game but, for so very many of us, we love it so much and share it, together, so often, that it's impact on our lives is, in reality, often quite understated, if not completely unmentioned. Being "imprisoned" at home, prisoners of war in this exhausting battle against COVID-19, has made us all long for an escape and a respite that can heal our broken hearts and assuage our burdened minds. For thousands and thousands of people, all over the world, this game has become that favorite café, it has become that local bar, it has become the Commons where, for an hour or an afternoon, the world isn't so confining and small, so frightening, and so overwhelming. Despite the massive expanse that outer space is, for a time, we aren't far apart. We aren't so suspicious and untrusting. We aren't worried about our friends and families, and we aren't wearing masks (maybe an occasional Remlok helmet.) Like kids with a favorite toy that broke barely a week after Christmas, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Bruce, and ALL your coworkers. It means the worlds to us.

Fifth time for them, at least. There may also have been official acknowledgements on Reddit or social media, but I don't read those so I can't be sure ... and the forum search being what it is I may have missed some more here too.

https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/19374 is marked as acknowledged, which is official acknowledgement of the bug
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...bruce-stephen-paul.559345/page-4#post-8814714 (and at least once more in the thread)
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...r-bruce-stephen-and-paul.559921/#post-8828034 (and at least once more in the thread)

Other than the bug report and this thread, all fairly easy to miss as they're contained within posts on broader topics - but equally, if they put up a News announcement every time a bug got confirmed we'd switch off from them because they'd show up daily and mostly not be for anything this critical. Their official stance is that if it's Acknowledged in the bug tracker, then they know about it, so that's the definite source.

(Now all they need is a bug tracker that's not the most nightmarish user-hostile one I've seen, for reasons endlessly discussed on the forums, and it'll be great...)

Well, yeah the PWA is useable and I've been using it fine too .. but it is laggy, especially at high throttle, hence the fix.
For which, o7 and cheers.

Anyway, good to know that this is getting fixed. Finally some normal Core Mining runs again :)

That being said, we're glad to confirm that a fix for the Pulse Wave Analyser will come in a patch on Wednesday 16 December. We understand how important this issue is to the Elite Dangerous community, and will endeavor to fix similarly important issues as quickly as possible moving forward.

WOOT!!!! Thank you!
