I totally agree with your approach, which in turn is so common sense, that it is hard for me to understand that it is necessary to explain such logical and basic things.
It is not normal the contempt that is held in this forum and in this game for everything related to pvp.

Neither I'm afraid, as in the forums it's a single person's opinion .
Me and my mates don't want PvP compared to you and your mates do want PvP . ( Caveat I do PvP and die quickly to those who are better and PvP with commanders but on my terms ).

Same can be said about pvers who call pvpers murder hobos, gankers, etc.
It's a generalisation by both parties and no doubt an oversimplification.
But yes it's a passionate subject that brings out the good and bad opinions.
 
It's relevant because it's what actually happened and we learned from it. We wanted to goto war in open but the pmf we were up against didn't.
But BGS is filling buckets ?
It's no quicker or easier running unopposed in open CZ than in PG CZ . So really you lost due to not enough of the bucket was filled not because they were in a PG.

There's 8 of us. In the example I gave 3 of us were doing say 2 to 3 an hour (rough approximation) the others doing 4 to 5 an hour.
If we'd all been in 1 group we would have cleared more down per hour. I can't be precise it was a few years ago. But splitting the group wasn't a good idea, my bad hehe

AHH I read your earlier post and thought you meant that you lost due to them being in PG and thought you had attributed your loss to them only playing in PG . I apologise
 
well if you want to pitch in system from another game it would be nice if you explained (at least) how the system works. maybe even how would you like to see it implemented in elite and what kind of effect do you think it would have on the game.
so once again: do you think that ctf is the thing that will "save" elites pvp?

i have vastly different experience, because the great majority of the pmf ive been in contact with have a pretty strict rule for bgs in open only.

i dont think thats flaw of the game system, nor do i see how its relevant tbh.

I don't have to mention anyone, I'm talking about a PvP activity for people who like pvp.
You can continue with your friends doing what you like the most in the game, I don't care.

If you don't like pvp, if it implements a pvp activity, you're not going to use it.
Why do you have to have a negative opinion about it.
It wouldn't affect you at all if they implemented something like that.

"Griefing is when a player harasses another player" so your wrong and pvp sucks and all pvpers are indeed evil hehe.. please 🙏 don't take this post literally it's meant in jest.
 
Hearts and minds I'm afraid. Peoples first iteration of PvP is generally a heavily combatted ship against a less than engineered ship in certain areas or they have "heard "about it.
 
What I have in mind more or less would be.
Each system would have 1 POI for solo that would be where the players would transport pieces from just like a kind of factory.
If those factories have enough parts, they would produce PNC fighter ships that would attack and try to conquer the open POIs.
The POIs of open is where there would be a conquest system, accessible by players in open and by the NPCs created in the factories thanks to players transporting materials.
If you transport materials in solo, your delivery will be limited in some way.
The points obtained in open POIs will be a kind of bonus.
Where each power will have different stores to exchange those bonuses for credits or for ships and military equipment with higher stats than what is already in the game.
This military equipment and ships can only be used in supercruise and open POIs, so as not to unbalance the game.
And they will have the characteristic that if you die you lose it.
There would be no insurance for military equipment.
To foresee a future imbalance.
There will be different open POIs with limitations on what kind of ships can enter them.
So that new starting players will have access to POIs that are not too unbalanced.
NPC factories, depending on the amount of materials they have, will reach manufacturing tiers.
Where in the higher tiers the NPCs will be with ships and military equipment.
The stores of each faction will be located in the same factories where the NPCs are produced.
If you buy military ships in them, you will only be able to supercruise and drop into conquest POIs.

You are aware that they also lose explo data when destroyed by another player, so more like players loses 200m in explo data and has to spend 500k on a rebuy. There's a big difference between being destroyed because you did something stupid and being destroyed by another player because they see you as an easy target and there was never anything you could do about it.
 
I know this is a rather sensitive subject in this forum.
But I would honestly like to ask if there are ever going to be any in-universe activities implemented for players who like to pvp?
There are many players that after many hours, is the activity that we like to do and today there is nothing in the game that encourages pvp.
In my opinion, it must have sense and be costly for both parties.
When you play pvp just for fun, it's different game - it is "arena" or "session". CQC is for that style.

Why I ignore pvp in Elite is because attacker has no cost of death (or better to say so small, so it can be ignored) while attacked always has something costly to lose.

Imagine simple rule added "attacker cannot rebuy ship during next hour if dead, so he must win or lose ship". How much of the current pvp will stay, what do you think ? :D

In fact I'd go even further. Excuse lack of detail but essentially if a murderboat attacks a nub in deciat, someone who has little or no engineering wotsoever, and through some kind of intervention ie the nubs bait, or the nub manages to land safely, the attacker should incur some sort of badass negative outcome. An example would be unable to low or high wake for an hour or more.
Consequences!! That's why gankers do what they do, there's no Consequences!
As for say the same situation only it's an engineered type 9 with cargo (not pp or bgs related) who consequently wins the fight 🤔 (I know its highly unlikely but...) the hobo should be punished once again hehe.
I ain't thought it through but you get the idea.

In "other game" it is super hard too.
I was working on some MMO server (open source clone of 1 well-known). It's a huge problem to make NPC move near horizon, so when player comes in NPC does not look like they just started to move. Solution like triples CPU use even with 1 player connected.
