PVP in ED? Enough already, this isn't a PVP game. Forums plugged up, too much.

I was in a CQC match the other day where it put the four best players on one team and the three worst on the other. First time in a long time I made it through a TDM match with no deaths while not being in first or second place...

And...

How does that relate to the conversation at hand? Could you conceive of a way to offer PvP a purpose in the game, with out forcing players into PvP? Do you have an ideas to give the gankers something to target? Just crapping on CQC doesn't help a thing.

Improving CQC would do a lot. We already have organized wing fights in San Tu but as I've stated in other threads, it can be very intimidating for a new player to get involved. If any player could just choose 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4, choose which ship they want to use, then queue for a match, it would be amazing.

Indeed, that's why I believe it would be very beneficial for CQC to allow another kind of matches where players could use their own ingame ships, the ships they built themselves, fine-tuned to their tastes, and without the threat of rebuy.

On top, allowing palyers to take part in 1x1 duels as well as form teams and do team vs team matches would be great. Even better if CQC supported creating tournaments between several players for 1x1, or championships with leaderboards for team deathmatch. So basically you guys could do what you currently try doing in San Tu, but properly supported, where anyone could easily take part, without the deterrent of rebuy, the annoyance of crime reporting, and with proper structured tournaments/leaderboards.

The reason why there are so many PvP content threads is because, after 5 years now, pvpers are getting sick of being ignored.
Every time Frontier drops new content, almost every group of players get something except pvpers. @Robert Maynard, I understand that PvP is possible but never meant to be the heart of the game, I get it, but that doesn't mean we should just be completely ignored, and there are things the devs could do to give us some kind of content while not forcing players that don't enjoy PvP into it.
And I guarantee if the devs made PvP more accessible and less punishing for newer players, I think you would have a lot more people giving it a try.

Improving CQC and giving us the option to use our own ships would go a LONG way, while not impeding on the rest of the community.

I hope to see an addition to your signature promoting just such an idea.

Let alone this sentence tells me this thread is nothing but a vent.
Objectively stupid. Alright. For objectivity to be supported, evidence must be provided, which this post is lacking. So we can claim that the statement for objectivity is false. Hence, it is your interpretation that the discussion about it is stupid.
Then, having a different opinion can't be wrong. An opinion has no need to be based on facts or supportive evidence. For instance my opinion of this thread is a meme-show caused by someone who was frustrated and had a need to vent. I can even support one statement of my opinion but it's redunant.

Lastly, what kind of quality content is it you're looking for? Any official news can be found in the news and announcements section of this forum. And oh gosh, if you don't like the kind of discussion about open play here, then I wonder what you'll be saying to the flooding of screenshots in the official sub-redit of ED. That sure must cause an outrage!

Now, since I have added my 2(.5) cents to this thread, I'll do as the first reply of it: grabs popcorn.
yeah i don't go to the sub often. not much to read there. as far as evidence i wrote out 36 treatises outlining many factual representations of things i learned reading britannica on paper because i'm 37 and older than the intern

I don't think you know what the definition of the words 'fact' or 'lie' are.
you spurred a memory in my brain, so i googled lying. i'm willing to admit you might just be misrepresenting the truth based of ignorance. or you're lying. guess you really thought every mechwarrior game since 95 has pvp

You enjoying being 37? You seem to be enjoying it. I only hope 38 can match up to it.

Yes! Yes to all of that!

Have you not seen all of the OP's comments stating that everything he says is a fact and every disagreeing argument is just wrong? That is the epitome of arrogance.

Mohrgan, I don't agree with you 99% of the time but I can clearly see that neither of us have ever shown the obscene level of arrogance on display here. I can disagree with you but I would never tell you that my opinion is fact, and I know you would never do the same.

the latest one?

Hmm, I think you're right. I very surprised that it only has co-op multiplayer.

I was technically mistaken, but certainly not lying, and I was only off by one out of ten (or eleven if you count MWLL) Mechwarrior PC games released since 1995.
