There's no random element so this is plain wrong. How can it possibly be gambling? These are not loot boxes. Not every thing in gaming that involves money is the same as a random other thing in gaming that involves money.
Can we just stop these slanderous accusations with absolutely no basis in fact?

In a career, a Commander must do his time and pay his dues. The prebuilt/pre-engineered-ships seems like a cheat to those Commanders who have spent years getting their engineered vessels the way the want them. I hope the Python II is worthwhile. I also hope the update has been thoroughly tested too. I am curious to see what the new career path is in the coming months. I do not buy Frontier swag in Russian. I want the Kings English.... Which is good enough for this Yankee.

I've just grabbed the Python Mk.II Standard. I have to admit, I wasn't expecting to get a freely deployable base ship. I was expecting to have to buy all of them with credits from the shipyard.

That is the sync mechanism fighting with Windows Defender and whatever else you have installed that hooks into storage traffic - it is therefore not dependent on fibre or indeed even the WiFi adapter.
You'll have to identify the stoopid place ED is trying to write stuff and put in an exclusion for Defender and any other antivirus you have in place.
