Quality of Life Improvement: Input LAT/LON Co-ords and have a Surface Waypoint appear, similar to the surface scan mission Waypoint.

This, only this will make surface play enjoyable, marking “finds” etc.
It’s hilarious now, 1930’s, Amelia.
Unnecessarily awkward gameplay and the CQC separate release indicate a distant upper management focussed on a much bigger business perspective.
So no, this is on hold until Q4 Exploration fixes. So player created assets RULEz!

I've added in more Nav functionality to Captain's Log now.

It now has;

Fully live navigation to a destination Lat/Lon with direction indicator arrows on the overlay and distance to target displayed as well.

Per-planet Lat/Lon Bookmarks - you can add as many bookmarks as you want per landable planet/moon.

Instant Lat/Lon bookmarking by clicking an icon, which will bookmark your current Lat/Lon position.

Setting your Lat/Lon destination by selecting a bookmark and clicking a button.

Manually bookmark a Lat/Lon coordinate and adding in a short note about it.

Distance to target takes into account if you're flying your ship or driving in an SRV (flying in ship takes your altitude into account as well as the ground distance).

Basically everything needed for a full Lat/Lon bookmarking and navigation system.

This new version of Captain's Log will be made available as soon as E: D 3.0 goes live. Details to follow in the CL2 thread.

Any dev feedback to this thread yet?

Indirectly - they added a new Status.json file which provides various live statuses and also live Lat/Lon coordinates, so that 3rd party developers can do the sort of things I'll be doing with my application.

I mean, I'm absolutely positive they've read this thread, and they have definitely answered calls for live lat/lon coords from myself and other 3rd party devs via our direct contact 'line' with Frontier.

Thank you!

Reckon they'll reimburse you if they implement your idea in the live build? lol :p

A thread like this with 40 pages of replies can't be ignored.
btw: when is the new update coming out for xbox one?

I have nothing to add. It's just a good idea and I want to keep the thread fresh.

In the meantime, try CL2's navigation system ;)
