[RELEASE] Slopey's BPC Market Tool! - New version!

Where can I find the newest version?
The link in the first post is only version 4.1.3.9, the same as I get if I try to auto-update the tool.
That is the process we use yes. When you don't have a green checkmark on the tab line, but a white-blue Info Button, you touch it and it informs you that a new version will be installed on the next start. Close BPC and start it again. An Installer will pop up and close the new BPC, the update is installed and BPC starts itself again with the currently latest version 4.1.4.3
Is that process any different for you?

some weirdness

So ive been doing runs between Anlave and Sol and up until last night everything was right on the money (ive been making sure to update the data regularly) now for some reason yesterday it started suggesting i take my goods to Mars High instead of M.Gorbachev. heres where it gets weird. Gorbachev and the other stations offer MORE for these goods. literally More money per item. To be specific on my return trip it wants me to bring back Consumer Technology. Mars high pays 7220 per. M.Gorbachev pays 7394. Even Titan city pays 7522. Why is it telling me to sell at Mars high? this is all visible in the system data window. yet when i search for runs it points me the 3rd lowest sellpoint insystem.

Is there anybody who knows why my location isnt recognized? I've set up correctly the network log file's folder, but still nothing...

Hi dooky - there are a few "logs" directories the one you need is the \AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1001\Logs or the highest FORC-FDEV folder - I have -1000 & -1001 so the -1001\Logs folder is the one I use.

Have you added VerboseLogging="1" into your AppConfig.xml in the Network section?

You need to use "." as a decimal separator - the BPC doesn't currently support ","

any ideas how to fix this ?

Update your Kaspersky antivirus (iirc, if not that one, whichever you use) - it's a known issue with AV software interfering.

Hello Slopey!
Once again: many Thanks for your work! I love this program!

After i upgraded it to the newest version 4.1.4.2, everytime i start a querry i get an SQLite error:

See above - for the moment, you need to use "." as a decimal separator rather than ","

Same here. Luckily I had only just started using this in the last few days and only lost 10 systems or 15 stations or so worth of data. Switching to another tool.

My system just recently updated to 4.1.4.3 and turned automatically from the local version to the full online database , is there any way I can get my own data back ?

I was getting swamped with the entire database before with huge searches for systems nowhere near me.

Please help .. ive lost A LOT of data :(

Hi Slopey

Why is my DB changed, this last version forced auto-update - Please set this as off by default - or ask installer - better yet as it is an app update - continue previous option - The latest just crashes with "parsing" - I only want my local DB.

How can I stop this update - please give the option - can I recover my personal data - some of my stations are days old - but it is what I have visited.

I do not want all 560 systems only my 15+.

Can I prevent auto-update?

Cheers &

Many thanks

I didn't turn it on by default, so I'm a bit bemused why it switched on again. Sorry about that. But I can't make any guarentees about the integrity of the data base on any given version - it's freeware, with no warrenty what so ever - use at your own risk.

Not sure why that setting suddenly switched to "on" - that'll take some investigation. Remember you can multi-select and delete data from the local database from the system data grids (right click), so you should be able to clear it down reasonably easily if you know which systems you've been to - the BPC will only update data from your last update onwards so you should be able to delete everyting in the system last update grid which was added after your last manual update.

Where can I find the newest version?

The link in the first post is only version 4.1.3.9, the same as I get if I try to auto-update the tool.

Øystein

Get that one, and then it auto-updates.

Just wanted to make my first ever forum post here to thank you for this wonderful app. It's something I wish the game had included (for only your own visited stations, as is for the purpose I use it)

I also wanted to make a few suggestions for it:
a) Allow us to define our "Favourite Systems" in the options. For the Source/Destination system dropdowns, add just under the "ANY" with "FAVOURITES". So you can quickly use the same list of multiple systems that gets used frequently.

b) Would it be possible to use data from edstarcoordinator.com [sorry I can't link - I'm too new for the forums] to attach locations to systems that are available/added?
If so, the "Commodity Data" tab could also be used to show "Closest source"?

There already is "show distance" in the commodity data grid, click on the column header to sort ascending/descending.

Hi Slopey - I had an issue multi selecting, needed to do it line by line on the system last update - but I was trying [ctrl+] and it did not seem to work, I think it was how I was doing it - so used a SQL editor to clear the SC sub table of entries 920-90870 - so all working fine now - I have made backup of ED4 DB - so I can back-track as necessary.

Great tool - and learning some SQL at the same time.

Date parsing exception

Hi,

I have a bug report for you.

Parsing the data on a Japanese version of Windows 8.1 results in an exception with date parsing.

String "26-12-2014 13:29" から型 'Date' への変換は無効です。 -> Can't cast from that string to Date...

Let me know if any extra information is needed!

Edit: I had to delete the debug info with file:/ links in it as the forums won't let me post with them...

If I make a backup of blank.db, can that be restored later? I might want to make a nightly job for that to avoid unpleasantries as I start loading in more local-only data.

I noticed I cannot enter commodity data for a system that I am not currently in. Is it being used for coordinates that allow distance calculations, or is there some way of importing data for a system I've left?

And finally, a wish-list item: a way to enter and filter factions, preferably at the station level. :)

Using this in "local mode" along with EliteOCR has been a lot more fun than my notepad method. It's a great piece of work Slopey!

@CmdrKull, do you find EliteOCR accurate enough? It already takes too long to manually double-check existing data or enter entirely new station data by hand, even with the great data entry shortcuts/workflows that Slopey has designed into his tool. (If only FD would just let third party programs scrape data through an API...) I worry that an OCR tool would still be too time-intensive to double check unless it was rock solid trustworthy at parsing the graphics correctly.

Japanese region doesn't work with the BPC - the date format is just too odd.

You want to be backing up ED4.db, not blank.db. The Blank one is the template the BPC uses if ED4 doesn't exist.

Which settings? this is how the app currently looks ^

Not settings - it's an update to the app itself. I don't use it (because it's a bit rubbish) - but look back the last few pages of this topic and you'll see someone with the same problem.

@Yokai

It makes very few mistakes for me when I carefully position the list for a screenshot, and the double-check workflow is well thought-out. It does sometimes mess up on 10,000+ credit items, and leaves off the first 2 digits (it's the comma). It usually takes me 5 minutes to take the screenshots, import them with my eyes on it to catch obvious mistakes, and then import the data into Slopey's program.
