Heavy judder in RES sites - yes or no

Hi Commanders. I've noticed the same thing only in SC. I run AMD 8-core 8350 4Ghz, 16 gig, 970 + dk2. I put it down to 4 commanders in the same instance with a load of ncp's. I have to say tho that everything else is silky smooth (ultra settings) - even asteroid fields and inside large starports. Defo improvement from 1.3 and I didn't change any of my grafix settings.

just loaded up 1.4 found my self in a rock feild was a mess but not a juddery mess more like double triple vision.
Edit :a double triple vision that gets worse the faster you move your head and it matters not what setting you put it on.

I7 4930k
32 gb ram
gtx 980.

This isn't a new issue. SC Seems to cause all kinds of issues with performance on the rift for some of us ... usually the moment ships spawn in the system. I found it killed my Windows 10 build when I was running the latest AMD drivers. Put some older Win 8.1 drivers on and managed to recover some of the performance.

It leaves a lot of questions as to why?

When I checked, graphics card utilisation was low and even dropped in SC. Yet I may have been busy on a single CPU core. I've given up guessing. It's one for the ED dev team to fathom.

Its not just AMD users. 1.4 does this on my gtx980's on windows 7. stopping super cruise and resuming only temporary fixes it. I opened up several tickets on this during beta. they never fixed it.

Exact same problem here. Since 1.4 have jutter in supercruise. It was super smooth in 1.3. I didn't change anything in the settings.

Intel I7 4790 3.60 ghz / 8 go Ram / geforce gtx 970 (355.60 drivers)/ DK2

Using direct mode or vsync by any chance? I get that in VR games if I'm in direct mode but unable to get 75fps. It drops to 36 and gives that double image issue when moving your head around.

Never got direct mode to work with ED and nope dont use vsyc.
Ok update: after spending hours taking drivers on and off system and then formating system only to find problem still exists, now after a bit of playing i found that yes it still there in resource extraction site and it is also present during supercruise and goes away the milli sec you push the button to come out of supercruise, this is not present in stations at all they are plesant to be in, at the mo the rest of the game is not.
Until this is sorted game is unplayable for me as it really ***** with yer eyes, and i cant go back to non rift to flat man.

1.4 just killed VR for me. the judder in SC nukes the game

watching my fps crash through the floor in SC . This bug was in beta and they never fixed it. this kills the game for me until they fix it. how did this make it out of beta ?

For me, like in 1.4 Beta, all is fine in SC. In fact, I really get the feeling FPS is more fluent in every aspect of the game when I compare to 1.3. I'm now able to maximize all settings (but SS) and all is fine everywhere. So I guess this is not all persons experimenting what you see unfortunately...

AFAIK VSync is ON by default in game graphics options and you can't disable it (red). In the Nividia control panel, in 3D settings specifically for ED I switched VSync to use "Adaptive Vsync" and it work fine, disabling it automatically when under 75fps and enabling it automatically when above. It's perfect in game.

Does people do same things than me? or a better method exist?

Ah, glad it's not just me! CPU at 30%, GPU at 35%, fps down in the 30s and 40s when in Supercruise! GTX980/i7-5820.

This didn't used to be the case.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to join Yololo69 and say the complete opposite. Settings at Ultra with 1.5 SS (in game) and I'm getting no judder at all; the game runs much better in every respect for me.

Same here so much more consistent fps no judder apart from galaxy map slight judder but nothing to moan about. If I drop setting down to high it goes away completely

ditto...... if i jump into a system it is fine in SC, but if i drop out, say for a USS, and then jump back in it is terrible.

I would say no worry its a bug and will be fixed quickly but this was ticketed as a bug in 1.4 beta 1 so i am a little more concerned.

rest of game is fine tho.

I'm doing the same! BTW, what driver are you using actually? I experimented a lot with newer driver since Beta last year... I always had the feeling that the older drivers are running better on my card than the newer ones, like they are only optimising the newer cards. (got the GTX770;4gb) I'm still on 340.52, lol... thinking about trying a newer one again... any one got an advice? Best from people with same card or older too... but I'm thankfull for every tip, getting a better experience!

EDIT: I just saw they released 358.50... I'll try them out after work and let you know how it is!
