In this thread, I want to highlight some specific parts of the wishes I have heard and have myself when it comes to possibilities to roleplay in the upcoming Odyssey expansion.
First, let me introduce myself:
I'm WoodmanGamerNL, often called Woody, member of and diplomat on behalf of the Paladin Consortium.
I am one of the representatives of one of our in-group Houses and often roleplay as the bartender of our group.
This roleplay enables me to fantasize about being an actual bartender in a space station and provides me and my group with some much-appreciated immersion and enjoyment in the game.
I made a menu for our Pub, including all kinds of rare goods you guys have implemented in the game, so when people "order" some food or drink I can actually point them to the system ingame where it comes from. This has led to many Paladins making trips to all kinds of special places where there are rare goods, being inspired by roleplay.
Now we come to my question and plea about Odyssey:
We would love to do certain things that seem extremely mundane ourselves.
A good example, based on what I've told earlier, is to have the ability to bartend a Pub or Bar yourself, as a person.
I understand it would be logical to make an NPC have the role of bartender, but it gives so much more immersion and inclusiveness if it's an actual person behind the bar.
This, of course, not only goes for bartending. It goes for other things, like station manager, faction manager, mechanics, engineers, scientist, etc., etc.
The beauty of this game is that a player can choose their own way, their own profession. This can be trading, mining, combat, exploring, anything really.
My wish, and that of many others, is that you extend that freedom of choice to your next expansion.
