Engineers SDC Commences "Operation SpicyBois 2.0"

To be clear, are both of you violating the forum rules by accusing me and my group of cheating?

Given your reference to 'godrolled' mods in your original post, it seems like a perfectly reasonable question. More so given SDCs endless whining about exploits (real and imaginary) in the past. If you don't want to be asked questions, I suggest you stick to playing the game, rather than engaging in infantile attention-seeking behaviour...

You should work on your reading comprehension. That reference is attached to a video done by AA demonstrating that it doesn't just affect hot running ships, it affects EVERY ship because the mechanic is critically broken.

Well, if the mechnic exists, is it "cheating", or is it just a bad mechanic that has been overlooked?

(I'm not saying it's a bad mechanic, as I haven't yet been subjected to it)

Tbh, I don't think they did anything super wrong per se. It's just a thing that people who play with or against such groups should be aware of. For better or for worse, that's what they're known for now.

Really, they're a group that's looking to stand on a soap box, just like any other. They're trying to white-knight some balance fixes, but really they're just looking to kill some folks; only now they have a half decent narrative. Nothing wrong with that. I like killin' ships too. I just don't pretend to be a white knight while doing it is all. More honest that way.

No one knows if you cheated and no one knows if I cheated. That's where we stand. Everyone is a suspect.

If you really care about the balance of the game, you drop this silly 'Polish the turd' operation and do an operation to have the following dropped from the game:

- G5 mods(keep the FDS, it does no harm)
- Secondary effects
- Special effects
- Premium ammo
- Stacking of defencive modules and utilities.

Game fixed.

One of the group's I play with at the moment has noticed some fairly minor issues too and reported them to Frontier they are not fixed yet but no problem. Why? - because we recognise that Frontier has a lot on their plate at the moment and MINOR ISSUES can wait. But we couldn't possibly expect that from SDC could we?, not when they can invent a crap excuse to shoot folk and drive a tiny agenda-mobile into the foyer of Frontier Developments. You guys had a great opportunity here to address the hot topic of the moment, hell, you may have even found some support in unlikely places but instead we get this nonsense.

Honestly you guys are so far up your own backsides you can lick your tonsils clean.

Well, another operation that actively blocks developer time for nonsense. Or lets say: The minority of the playerbase again demands "balance passes" that block ressources FD needs to develop further content. I mean guys - you should feel some responsibility for the 80 % not doing 24/7-pewpew, hm?

That wasn't too difficult then, was it? Can I take it then that SDC consider the engineering exploit as cheating (as Frontier have made abundantly clear)? Because it would seem to me that if you do, the damage it has done to the game (or at least the PvP aspect of it) is far more apparent than any issue with one particular weapon which you yourself have noted is largely unused. So what led SDC to prioritise one rather than the other?

  • I just got roasted by a wing of SpicyBois, what do I do to stop this?

Block the players who fired upon you/killed you.

They may/may not be highlighting an issue in this thread but that doesnt stop them from further mindless killings in the future so my advice is block them if you dont want to be killed by them.

Lets make open a better place for all.

Blocking people who hurt your feelies is a surefire way to improve at the game. I mean, that's probably why Delta Squad did so well against us in the PvP league when we used a gunship, asp, eagle, and ieagle to 4-0 your meta team.

I'm always curious about combat asp fits - got a link or description for your fit? How do you deal with the asps low shielding and poor maneuverability in a pvp environment?

I'm saying that a cloud of uncertainty is ruining any credibility of any PVP focused group, and that should be your biggest concern if you want PVP to have a viable future.

The fact that this is not your top concern speaks volumes.

That particular exploit was used and abused by a couple really, really bad groups that had been using it for the better part of a year and were still losing fights. It wasn't widely known, and when it was was fixed before anyone could really take huge advantage of it. People that think it had a huge impact on engineers or PvP balance don't really understand what the exploit actually did and the level of god rolls ships already had.

God rolls are not a replacement for skill in this game.

Delta is so bad at PvP, it didn't matter. We were going to use a keelback, but it was too strong.

The last time you had zero threads generated. Hope it'll be better this time fellers.

Alternatively, you could create a thread on the forum about this issue and raise awareness that way.

With multiple God rolls no doubt. Nothing you say is believable as you've proven yourselves to be doublecrossing lying scum. I am of course referring to your leader. That is something you will never shake. At least with me.

Ah, shame. For a moment thought someone may have figured a relatively competitive fit for a combat asp. Oh well.

Nah, it's not really viable. Not enough firepower or shielding to take on people that know what they're doing. The PvP league was based around stock ships with only a single engineered module, so the outfitting meta is very different compared to live.

PvP league rules dictated that only 1 G1 engineered module could be equipped per ship.

I just read your claim: it worked in 2016 :D

No it didn't. FD was already working on a fix and said so in one of the first replies on reddit. Your campaign in 2016 was a flop, since no threads, no 'community tears'. Nothing.

It's amusing how SDC is quick to react to anything that can potentially pose a threat to their 4 man gank squad in open :)

Heat cannon trully is broken though and need to be fixed

Ships in the PvP league are only allowed one G1 roll each. Nice try though.
