Mine consists of a naked Obutto R3volution which I slide under an IKEA Galant desk when I want to play some sims. I opted for this option because it allows to hard mount my Warthog (with 7.5cm extension) at the ideal position, and the use of pedals is also easier that way. I had Saitek combat pedals but upgraded to MFG Crosswind pedals.

For displays, I use three 30" monitors, for a total resolution of 7680x1600. TrackIR 5 for head tracking, and a Buttkicker Gamer 2 attached to the R3volution for added immersion.

My FSSB R3 mod should arrive Friday :D

How do you like the Buttkicker? It's pretty much the only option for the R3volution that I didn't get.

In ED it's pretty awesome... while hyperspace builds up, you feel the engine revving up.

Only downside is when passing through station shields, the buttkicker goes totally wild and it feels like the whole house is shaking.

It would be even better if SimVibe supported ED. :D

I feel for the immersion it adds it is worth the money.

Mine is a tip as well:

Commander%20Dave%27s%20%28tip%20of%20a%29%20desk.jpg

a bit OT - but loved the sig - best Tool track ever

Built my rig back in September 2011 :

Win7 Ultimate 64 bit
Obsidian 650D case
i7 2600k 3.4ghz
Antec Kúhler H2O 620 Series 4 CPU Watercooler
AMD Radeon HD6950 graphics #
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel
Asus PB278 monitor - though not tried ED in 2560x1440 yet
LG BH10LS38 10x BluRay-RW / 16 x DVD±RW Lightscribe Drive
Saitek X52 Pro (just added this for ED)
2 TB WD Caviar Black HD

# graphics card will probably be next upgrade

My biggest problem with this setup at the moment is that i can't get the goddam X52 to stick to my desk!

Cheers

Doc

That's an awesome setup you have! In particular I notice you have a buttkicker gamer 2 there. I'm really interested in getting one, but wanted to know:
  1. How well it works specifically in Elite: Dangerous
  2. If you're in the UK, is there anywhere reasonably priced to get one from

Some nice setups here.

And all you guys worrying about a messy desk...

...you got nothing :D

**edit**
Looking at this pic, I realise how old it is. I'll take another tonight, with the X52pro and the Powergrid in it :D

Back up coffee mug for those CTD moments... Now that's what I call planning ahead. A bit close though...

Great setup, The desk and chair are my biggest issue. I just cant find what I have in mind. :S

When I upgraded to 3 monitors a few days ago, the wife booted me out of the living room... So I have my setup on a bit of old kitchen work top, in a small box room.

Behold! My relatively inexpensive yet super useful setup!

I can pretty much control everything from the HOTAS thanks to xpadder, but I'm really proud of the switch panel.
