Pics don't show for me :(

This is my humble setup and specs in sig -

What is that monitor? Looks lovely...

**edit**
Should the mugs be identical? Seems a bit risky... :)
The tea mug is only ever full when my wife takes pity on me :D
As soon as she offers, I empty the coke mug. They are never both full at the same time.

its a AOC Q2963PM 29 inch Ultrawide IPS LED Monitor (21:9, 2560x1080, 6ms, UWHD)

Here is the official website, its 60 hz ips panel but can be run at 72hz without any frame skip.
I have gone from a 144hz Aoc to this model and have to say both the colour and extra wide screen has been excellent for me in games as i have no bezels getting in the way.
Cost me £287 delivered :)

So these actually work . Seen them about but didn't really see how they are setup

They're basically a keyboard. The toggle switches make home made ones difficult though, but am currently making one using an Arduino (actually Arduino-like device called a Teensy++ 2.0) that'll act as a pulse monitor and translate it to a keystroke (will work with potentiometers and momentary switches too.)

I'm loving the headset stand. Now why didn't I think of that? :D

Only £12 .. :D
The mouse mat, which is the 2nd best mouse mat I have ever had btw, is Rose Elliot's Vegetarian Cookery. Highly recommend. Although hard to source!

A more honest depiction of my less than immaculate man-pit:

PC's used for office and gaming, at the moment it seems to be more of the latter :)

Hehe someone with a camera phone worse than mine! Nice setup btw. The Hotas X seems to be the most popular analog device for this game?

Ha, it was taken with my brothers tablet. The Hotas X seems to work rather well with E : D considering it's bargain price.

How is your Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 holding up?
Wish I still had mine, it was the best joystick I ever owned lol

Chris.

Mine is very well used but I've not felt it was a waste of £27. ;) Two of the base buttons don't work, but given there's only 8 in total that always meant the keyboard was going to cover most stuff. So no biggie. The main thing I like about the FFB2 is the lack of a spring. Its always centered with no slop etc.

I also find the fine movement off 0 to be very good. I can touch it maybe 1cm in any axis and it picks it up just fine. One of the things I read about modern made sticks is that they tend to have deadzones (either software or hardware) and over time develop 'waggle' and 'slop' etc. That was why I went with a 10 year old FFB2 off ebay rather than the Hotas X.

The one thing that slays me though is the lack of a seperate throttle control. Or at least a detent in the throttle. Its been the cause of numerous docking accidents so far.

What do you make of the X? In terms of accuracy and deadzoning etc?

The buttkicker works well with ED. The only "bug" I've encountered is when passing through a station's shields. The buttkicker freaks out and nearly sterilized me so much my balls shook.

Here's the actual PC running the stuff.

In truth I have only used it in X:3, X:Rebirth and Star Citizen (AC) and Elite Dangerous and it only seems to work properly in Elite.

Throttle has a central notch which makes finding 0 easy, the buttons on the throttle control feel a bit cheap and tacky and one of them has stopped working.
The Joystick itself though is very accurate, it does have a deadzone but it's only very small so it's quite accurate when making small movements.

Bundled software is fsx specific, so technically it doesn't work. Can't make them work with xpadder either, since they don't seem to work with xinput.

There is however this app:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=118988

Which allows xpadder-like functionality to it. Keypresses can be mapped to any position of any switch, and it supports combinations, too. The energy preset selector for example is [down-left-left-up] for leftmost, [down-left-left-up-up] for second to left, etc.
