Was I the only one that watched that show Zoo Babies as a kid? It was like a show that almlst exclusively showcased newborn zoo animals and when there weren’t enough, they would just talk about interesting things happening at zoos around the world. I think you can get it on Amazon, but idk if it’s still there

I feel like that's the same argument as sating. It fine if we don't reintroduce any Scimitar horned oryx and let them die out. Because there's like 20 other antelope that fill the same neiche so who cares.
How so, the Oryx was never completely extinct? You can't compare it to a dodo. Point is animals should not get extinct by humans doing. We should protect all species that are alive today. But should we bring back a dodo that went extinct a long time ago? I don't see a good reason really.

Aw, cute! I think I kind of remember that show. Here we have a show called The Secret Life of the Zoo - and it's all about the animals and behind-the-scenes work at Chester Zoo. Sometimes London Zoo also do special one-off shows, like at Christmas time. It's quite fun because you get to know the animals and their stories so when you visit the zoo you feel more connected to them, like when I visited LZ in the spring, I was really interested to see how Kiburi the male gorilla was settling in with his new family after watching how carefully they introduced him over a slow period before xmas. And I knew that the sloth had had a baby called Nova :)

Aside from that I watch all the David Attenborough stuff. Which reminds me - Once when I saw an Attenborough programme in America it was dubbed with an American voiceover and focused on the predation and really ramped the violence up by repeating the footage and having the voiceover guy get really enthusiastic?! That's not the spirit of Attenborough! But I wondered if it had to do that in America to compete with all the alpha stuff on Discovery? Grrr, Big Man Catch Big Fish etc. Do you know if you get the same version of the Planet Earth series? Because they are perfection, just as they are - I hope you can see the unadulterated version! I'm halfway through Planet Earth III at the moment:

I believe we do. I honestly don’t know why they did a different version, maybe it’s just more appealing to general US audiences?

The show reminds me of a few they have on Disney+ about behind the scenes of zoos. There’s one on Animal Kingdom, The Taronga Zoo, and another one I can’t remember. They’re really good and give a lot of inside info on the zoos.

Ah a nice reigned in chat. I don’t think I can keep reading the winter speculation discussion page as it has become PZs equivalent of Wows Barren chat.
Yeah I saw a few people commenting in the Winter chat that it was hard to keep up with and digressing too much. I'm fine with people enjoying banter (and guilty of it myself!) but I didn't want to annoy anyone so I set this up so that we could interact a bit more freely and sociably where everybody didn't have to try to keep up with it all. Glad it's helping and thanks for appreciating it! :) Feel free to join in with the chit-chat if you feel like it!

Nothing like Tomato Soup and Planet Zoo 😜

(UK chips = fries but chunkier) (homemade, not from a van!)
Nice! Fishcakes, chips and salad + PZ for me (a very British dinner) :D Hope you're not feeling too rough today. Better take tomorrow off school just in case, right? ;)
Oooooh, sounds awesome! Sounds like fish and chips. (my favorite food!) Everytime I go to a restaurant I get them I rate and keep track of all the ratings in a note.

I’m feeling better than yesterday but still not 100%, so idk if I’ll go tmr.

That's exactly what I had 😂 minus the planet zoo part though, my computer is still broken. I'm having withdrawal symptoms, 1 week now with pz is killing me
Haha that's funny! Us Brits being cliche's over here :D

Oh noooo I'm so sorry your computer is broken - must be torture! I think PZ also decimated my last laptop so I treated myself to a new one this year. Not super high-end, it's a Lenovo Legion, mid-range for gaming but I got it on contract so I could spread out the cost (Amazon have some good deals like that, not too much interest added). So far it's holding up...

I listened to a podcast recently about a guy who LOVED pizza and he rated every pizza place he went to in America - he kept all his notebooks (he had loads of them!) and ended up making a commercial Pizza Tour that is now his full-time job! So keep hold of those notes - you never know how you might use them! Just for uh, "research purposes", what is the best Fish & Chips on the East Coast these days? In England it's always best by the sea...

I got a few up there, let’s see…

True North in Weymouth MA
The Fresh Catch in Mansfield MA
The Inn at East Hill Farm, Troy NH

My worst rating is from Lobster Hut in Plymouth. They were super small, nugget-like and dry. Don’t reccomend.
