Hey @Captain Callum do you know if we're allowed to use PZ music in our youtube videos? Like for background music. I know a lot of people do I was just wondering if the permission was open to anyone?
I do believe if my info is right, that frontier allows free use of the planet zoo tracks on YouTube , meaning that in theory YouTube does not issue copyright strikes to those who include it. I have never attempted it myself considering I make long PZ videos where music tracks are 20+ minutes, I often search for copyright free ambience music tracks as I find my audience likes the relaxing vibe of them.

But if let's say, the addax went extinct, how would you feel about them bringing them back. Or the northern white rhinos that only have one gender left so their practically extinct, what if they just brought back on of the opposite gender.

launching this week!Yes that's a very gopd argument, having these tools at our disposal may help prevent further extinctions. I think there are very good arguments against humans "playing god" and being too intrusive but as we are the world's biggest invasive species it seems that perhaps the only way for us to correct the balance of our past actions (specifically those of industrialised colonnials i.e. the British) will be to intrude positively. I've noticed this in Wildlife documentaries where previously they had a strict non-interference policy, now the film crew will actually intervene if it saves lives without interfering in natural behaviour or predator-prey relationships, like in the last Blue Planet series they helped some penguins out of a ravine caused by exaggerated ice melt and in the most recent Planet Earth series they helped some female sea turtles make it back to the sea after getting stuck on some rocks, as sea turtles are in so much jeopardy now. It must be near impossible to hold yourself back from helping when you care so much, I'm glad they don't and I'm glad they're talking about why they do it.
In a mathematical/philosophical sense, if all life has value, then whether it is extinct or not, it has value. Even the last crab on a beach of a dying species has value, its life is worth something, it is worth saving.
