Also, I was on Wikipedia today and found this really interesting plan the New England Aquarium had back in the 90s. They planned on buying a dry dock on the opposite side of the Charles and converting it into a dolphin/pilot whale habitat. They said the would have included things like underwater tunnels. This would have been really awesome. Sadly, the neighbors didn’t like it and they never ended up being able to buy the property. They then went into debt and lost their AZA accreditation for a couple of years. But man that would’ve been so cool if it went through.

It’s about 130 meters (~425 feet) long and 30 meters (~90 feet). The dolphin habitat at SeaWorld Orlando for comparison is only a measly 40 meters (~200 feet). It is definitely a substantial improvement.
