I found it fun. I haven't been playing much E
, have been doing some CQC, but that's a separate game. This got me back in and it reminded me of the early days of rares, sprinting across the galaxy dodging interdictions with the added element of sneaking into stations.
Really good fun. I'll probably abandon the game for a while again now as trucking between two or three systems just isn't fun for me.
I picked up a few 1.2m missions yesterday, but none of them were smuggling, they were standard trade missions. I also relogged a few times as several times I was just looking at a board of charity missions and everything else being locked up in having to be Elite.
I think FD's philosophy is that to progress in this game, people need to be playing full-time for a long period of time. This is fine for some people, but I think the bulk of the players don't have that time, so progression is rare. I'm playing my save from the beta, this particular gold-rush has made me more money than anything else but I still only moved one rank to broker.
