This precisely. Although I am somewhat hopeful that SDC do something useful for once and make the devs push out a patch. Thermal weapons are junk and should never have been introduced.

Yep, same here. I have been in Open for 9 months now-& have participated in 3 CG's, & never once been attacked or killed by a fellow commander in all that time. Indeed, I have even managed to Wing Up with a random commander at one point.
I wonder what I am doing "wrong"?
Open is fine.. But if you aren't well versed in PvP or fly with a group or so on just use solo or pg around CGs. Thermal cascade on missiles is pretty ridiculous though, FD were told about this way back to beta and didn't sort it. You'd likely be dying to ganks regardless of heat since you are posting here..

Blow up a CMDR who is clean...you instantly look at the rebuy screen. That's fix it pretty quick.

You guys are just becoming a serial nuisance now and far from furthering the cause for PvP you are infact doing it harm by giving food to the PvE hive mind that persits here. Endleslly drawing attention to yourselves, by flicking a wet towel on the proverbal love spuds, isn't garnering you much good will. You think you are immune, but yet you seem very naive re that.
Go listen to Brabens comments on Lave radio, its well within his remit to perma ban folks as and when he wants... He's already got a bee in his bonet over 'griefers' and all you guys are doing now is rubbing salt into the wound. You go too far at times and whilst I have no issue with you guys the wider community would likely cheer your removal from the game.
Its up to you but keep this up and its not gonna be a happy ending.

If whatever they are doing is completely within the limits of the game, using in-game mechanics that FD have provided, and not using external exploits then no matter how obnoxious it is it's still legitimate gameplay. I don't agree with this type of thing, but if it's legitimate in-game then it's not an exploit.
If in-game mechanisms "need" to be changed, then that's up to the devs to decide based upon valid in-game data. It's not for players to tell the devs what "needs" to be changed.

Yeah OP, engineers' balance is non-existent. Don't care about pirates. But I care about a broken uninspiring skill-free meta.
CG attract griefers. Griefers could and still can easily kill a trader. The OP never liked Open. The OP till doesnt like Open. Such is the way of Elite Dangerous.

That's quite true. Was interdicted by missile Cutter. At first I thought he just wanted to say hi or something lol, then came the barrage of missiles. In CZ, met an Anaconda with shield destroyer torps, also quite OP. Incurred 450k repair cost, made only 190k from CZ ~.~
At least, the previous stealth meta still required you to aim.
The no-brain missile wall is getting old very quickly.
Misses the point though really. Everybody who has played the game for a week or who knows how to read the forums and/or reddit knows how to escape an interdiction. Thing is, they aren't playing Interdiction! The Game. They're trying to contribute to a CG. I can spend an entire night evading interdictions. However there hasn't been a single day since I started playing when I've got home after 10 hours at work and thought that's what I actually want to spend my evening doing, to the exclusion of anything else.
The solution is solo or private group. Thing is, that doesn't do anything for the players who prefer open, especially the ones who mistakenly think the world revolves around them and their needs, but they're clearly not willing to do anything to give players who aren't focused on pvp aspects of gameplay a single reason to care what they want.
It all comes back to the fact that just because you can do something doesn't mean you have to do it. Or more accurately that if you do choose to do it, you also choose to accept that there will be consequences. Thing is, in the long term those consequences are going to harm the players who want to fight other players in open and increasingly can't find many of them far more than they will harm the players who don't care about pvp to begin with and so lose nothing by playing in solo or private.
It's amusing to me that one player group in particular whose members have bigged up their supposed intelligence on these forums in the past don't seem to be able to grasp a concept that basic. Or perhaps more accurately that the complete absence of logic in that situation highlights the fact that they are just lame trolls and for all they talk about a higher purpose behind their antics their words are, as Shakespeare wrote 'a tale told by an idiot; full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.'
