Some interesting PvP / C&P observations

I was disrupting things in Diso over the weekend, too, in Mosquito (my Sidey). It was fun, but I too found it odd that more FDLs etc weren't wanted.

Pulling over Annies in a sidewinder really winds them up. Most can't even be bothered to open fire :D

I did "say hi" in a way, to Aashenfox, too. A noble cause, but the Fed bias excludes me ;-)

I understand why this is, yet I kinda wish, for the sake of immersion, a more sophisticated system existed for CGs. Anyone attacking a trader ship carrying requested aid to a system should be immediately marked hostile in that system, regardless of Power pledge. People are starving and the police just sit back while food shipment is destroyed because "Oh well, they're each other's enemy, so we'll let them sort it out, food be damned." This makes zero sense IMO.

Yes and no... too simple and binary wouldn't necessarily be more realistic. For comparison, the self-appointed world police and other international entities quite often find a nonsensical reason to just whistle and look away - when say one nation actively invades a neighbouring nation because they don't like a particular group of people in that nation...

Either they are sufficiently outfitted to survive the gank, in which case, they don't need an escort, or, they are not sufficiently outfitted to survive the gank and there is nothing a one, two or even three man escort can do about that.
I feel this is a defeatist attitude based on edge-case academics rather than game reality. Neither I nor the Conda I was escorting was in one of these mythical "gank-proof" ships, yet we deterred and repelled any griefer / ganker attack for the duration of our gameplay (which lasted between one and two hours). And had we lost a battle, so what? We still would have had fun. It's better than sitting inside on a sunny day because it "might" rain at some point. What good is your skills and superior engineered ships if you're just going to sit on your remlock-suited butts instead of taking some risks and getting into the action? Heck, I gave some griefers what-for in an (mostly) unengineered shieldless HAULER. I'm making you all look bad, LOL.

A Vulture is tough as old boots. It's very much gank proof...even from a wing of 4 gankers.

Were the griefers in an unengineered shieldless Sidewinder?!

Also...I've been mooching around the CG systems since they started...I've hardy seen many traders and zero sign of any PvP ships causing trouble.

Not with me flying one, I'm a noob (with only a partially, modestly-engineered Vulture).

No, I just think they've gotten spoiled by having large targets (T9s) to shoot at instead of a tiny little bug like me.

Sounds like instancing. Granted, Oreocookie had way more activity than Diso any time I checked. Long live the Federation!

Diso is exploited by Mahon so expect to see a lot of the outlaw types grabbing the Alliance banner for the duration of the CG. Not only does it allow you to attack any of the other powers without consequence (you're defending Mahon space, after all) in normal space but you can also take advantage of it outside stations.

Just make sure you don't hit the station or any NPCs and you'll just get fined for firing inside the no fire zone. Great way to ambush people.

Been meaning to try this with Smart Rounds some day.

Consistent rules between players? U mad bro? Next you'll want balance passes and other far out stuff.
I'll probably just be mocked for "waving my epeen around" or some such other tactic commonly employed by some of our esteemed colleagues from the other side of the discussion.

I was doing that for a bit (a trick I learned as Jenny on PS4), but then I got rammed to death and sent to a detention center for the fine, LOL.

Now what if an enemy power kills someone pledged to Mahon in Diso or Oreocookie, will that person get a system bounty and notoriety on them, or does it follow standard PP C&P rules?

IIRC they would receive a PP bounty from Mahon. No notoriety and no bounty with local folk. Once you leave or defect from the power it goes away, I think.

I think you only get merits for kills if you are actually undermining (i.e. you are killing enemy ships in an enemy control system). At least that's how it works with NPC's, there's very little reason why it should work otherwise with CMDR kills. But you are (relatively) free to kill PP pledged ships (including CMDR's) anywhere. I mean you won't get notoriety points for it, not even if you kill someone pledged to the same power as you.
Do you have to be pledged to have these benefits in attacking other Powerplayers?

Is Archon enemies with everyone?

Hah! Nice. I alternated between hauling (Cutter) and annoying ('winder). 😉

Haha ! I did the same thing with my Sidey in Orerve. Interdicted a bunch of ships and practiced my flight skill avoiding fixed weapons ^^ Good way to have fun with other CMDRs between hauling sessions !
