I'm at work atm but I noticed when doing a trade run near Sol that one of the export locations was a system called "SINGLELIGHTTEST" which doesn't appear on the Galaxy Map. I took a screenie and it may be completely irrelevant but I'm going out on the razz tonight so I'll dig it out tomorrow.

Is that still there? I reported that as a bug months ago. It's a test system ("Single Light Test") that would have been used early in development. There were a bunch of others as well. At one point you could search for them in the galaxy map - you couldn't actually see them or target them but it would move the view to the right location.

Another random question: for these rare artifacts, Alien, AI, UA, etc., do they degrade outside the ship like normal commodity cargo? If you jettison one, do you have to worry about the time you have to pick it back up?

I can see a terrible scenario where someone actually finds one of these things, jettisons it to listen, tries to record the sound, and doesn't scoop it back up in time. Hopefully someone can put my mind at ease.

I was visiting Sol for the first time when I saw one of the three-quarter circles that normally indicate some celestial body, or Signal Source, but it didn't have a label when I targetted it. I assume this was Voyager, I didn't have time to visit at that time, but it's on my list.

Yes, that's Voyager. No need to giggle or fly past Pluto to see it.

As an aside I'm sure in Frontier if you blew up the Thargoid mothership the little fighters they sent out became dead in the air as they were remotely controlled buy the mothership. You could then scoop them up and sell them as Alien artefacts for lots of credits. Be careful out there, you never know what you might find!

You're welcome also the Platoon reference didn't escape me either.
I thought running rubber dog turds out of Hong Kong was a Top Gun thing? Or maybe I missed something.

Man I hope there's something about this in the newsletter today (possibly with a hint). That'd be pretty cool.

I love waking up to find that pilots from the other side of the world are taking their shift to hunt. I'm at work right now and I have a question for those with access to peregrina; have you been able to cargo scan any trading vessels? Pirating in Peregrina is my goal for this weekend.

Just want to point out that this image I linked to before wasn't taken by me since some seem to think that. Found the image previously on the forum a short time after 1.2 dropped. So I'm not really sitting on some big secret if you think that is the case! :D

Yep, I've been scanning every ship in every signal source there for a couple of days now, nothing so far.

I'm about to take a mining laser into the asteroid belt now to see if anything turns up.

+1 That's not a bad idea, I think its one thing we may have overlooked. We don't know the source of this artifact or what its for. It could just be prototype mining laser that yields Painite for all we know :S So there could be a mining connection to it.

Again, nothing out of the ordinary has popped up in the few belts i've mined, but I can scan any pirates here whilst I'm doing it.
