Thanks for confirming.FYI, I did not add [Speculation] at the title, that was done by Frontier forum moderator.

Too passive Klarg... One minor change madeI am off to write my open letter demanding space donkeys. Itrustknow I speak for every single one of you when I say this should be FD's number 1 priority.
Well to be far, once you've seen one planet, you've seen them all. but the interiors would all be hand-crafted and unique as opposed to the masses of computer generated dust and ice wastes.Video: You can walk on billions of planets!
Us: Yeah cool but can I walk around my ship?

Of course that title describes features (not) coming with Odyssey DLC, I'm not a prophet to see beyond that. Maybe next expansion down the line will bring full ship interiors, I don't know. But the fact that nothing will change IN THAT REGARD in the foreseeable future is my original point.
You should read his comments prior to mine and discover that I've been responding in the same manner as he was. But I guess you choose what you want to see and respond selectively. Bottom line is, no matter what you think it's true, the facts, or lack of facts, don't support your opinion.

Elite Dangerous expansion aims to give players their own ‘Neil Armstrong moment’
The details for the Odyssey expansion are still a bit hazywww.polygon.com
Thanks for confirming.
This would prolly be the best solution. Then you have an option, it could be in the UI, or a ship option like requesting docking, that transports you, Star Trek style, onto the planet surface.
If you don't want to teleport, you can walk through the ship if you choose to.
I am never wrong!sometimes in life you are just wrong
Speak for yourself I'd have bucket loads of respect for some people if they dug a hole got into it and began covering it back up again![]()
I am never wrong!
Just sometimes the facts do not agree entirely with my version....
Yeah, they are called critics. Some people just live to find the fault in everything.
You really have a pretty low concentration span, don't you? I stand by what I said in the original post and have never said anything else. Maybe you should look up the dictionary for the word "contradiction".Your original point said it "won't happen", not that it won't ever - so you have contradicted yourself again buddy!?
I'm not changing my mind at all so you must be either delusional or a troll: I have a very low opinion of both. And for any that didn't see the original thread title - you had it moderated to add the word speculation - completely proving the points that people are telling you - your thread is opinionated speculation!
Even though it was moderated for you, you'll next claim you asked for it to be done! This is what I mean about you flip-flopping around, and changing your mind all the time, after each person points out the flaws in your arguments!
If what I wrote in the original post turns out to be false, I'll happily admit I was wrong because we ALL will get one interesting feature for EVERYONE to enjoy.C'mon man, this is stupid to keep trying to be 'right' when you know what you wrote was bullhonkey. Just let it go, and stop fighting!
I did not confirm or deny anything, I just stated the fact: mod changed the title of the thread. I mean, what's your point? There you go, you confirmed that the mods changed the title by adding the word speculation. You can't change that one now.... thankfully!
I see... You are one of those.Chill out buddy, sometimes in life you are just wrong. It happens to everyone. You get more respect by not digging a bigger hole for yourself.
Cheers![]()
Elite: AnticlimacticSo anticlimactic.
Developers are also considering allowing them to walk around inside starships, exploring the vessels they’ve owned for years for the first time. The feature won’t be available at launch when Elite Dangerous: Odyssey comes to PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One sometime in early 2021.
You're welcome.Thanks for confirming.
Nicely put.Well if I remember correctly walking around inside our spaceships is actually something that David Braben mentioned in an early kickstarter interview video a long time ago. I think we can be certain that it is still a 'possibility'. But I would hazard a guess that it is highly unlikely, unless the devs can come up with significant gameplay to go with it, which I doubt they ever will. I stand by the opinion of the OP that we will not be getting this feature, simply because I can't see any gameplay reason for the devs to spend years of design work painstakingly modelling the interiors of every single ship, some of which are the size of aircraft carriers for something that people will get bored of after a few hours. I know, some of you want it. Some of you REALLY want it. But you will get bored of it pretty soon, and most people just don't know whats good for them, they can't look into the future and visualise how it would actually be. How the experience will soon become tiresome and pointless.
The devs will still say that it's a possibility, because they want to sell the game DLC, and given how many people want this thing, the possibility of them getting it will help sell Oddessy, so they will never say never. But I seriously doubt we will get walking around inside ships and stations, simply because there is little to no gameplay to add with such a feature.
People need to think rationally, and be more realistic. It's the same with VR, where Obsidian Ant made a video a few days ago explaining how much work it would take to make a decent VR FPS that doesn't make people want to vomit. Maybe if that was the whole game it could be a thing, but we are talking about a game that already exists and these are only modules added every few years to an existing game that is still a commercial endeavour that can't lose money by spending exessive time and resources on things that are just not going to work.
Observe Star Citizen and it's development. Try to learn something from what you see there.
And think about it this way. I've seen and heard a lot about the new MSFS, where the devs seems to have spent many years developing a scale model of the whole, or at least most of the whole planet Earth. Do you want to be able to not just see you own house but walk around inside it? Imagine how cool it would be to walk into a virtual representation of your own kitchen and make a virtual cup of tea? I know, this sounds so cool. But where is the gameplay? And after you've done it once, how often are you going to want to repeat that action? An action with no consequences?
I really hope the devs are spending their time getting the planet environments right, together with the procedural flora and fauna and a mixed set of procedurally generated planetary buildings we can walk around to make an interesting and diverse addition to the Elite game, and not wasting their time and money 3d modelling the toilet cubicle in my Cobra III.
I will go to my real kitchen now to get a real beer from my real fridge, and dream about walking on alien landscapes not dream about walking around the inside of my house or spaceship in VR because I'm certain that computer games are supposd to be about escapism from the confines of our meagre existence not reconfirmation of it.
