Ta. Lateral thrusters and space dust. Just then how to level off (short of full on brake fa-on) to sort out.The main thing on stearing towards the target is to keep an eye on the space dust (the tiny white particles that fly towards and past you when you're travelling at speed). Irrespective of the direction your nose is pointing, those tell you the direction you're actually travelling in. Essentially you want them to be coming from the target. If you start to drift off course you'll notice that those space dust particles start coming from either left or right of the target and you need to use your lateral thrusters to correct that. Towards the end of the run you may get a more accurate sense of direction by paying close attention to the direction the ground is moving directly beneath you.
My problem is trial and error havent helped re-levelling off BUT keeping the speed up. So i am kind of not sure what technique I need to be practising...It takes practice as I found out..lots of it, but my god it is rewarding when you do succeed.

Ah - well one thing I took a while to figure out is that, at the end of your run, it's actually easier than you might think not to die (I didn't lose a single ship this time ... I know @PrimetimeCasual, shocking right and not at all in the spirit of the event!). Basically, as long as your final angle of descent isn't too steep, you just need to level off a bit, keep holding that up thrust button and hit boost. A good portion of the boost power goes down through those vertical thrusters and should send you floating back up again and clear of the approaching ground. The trick then becomes - getting the right angle of descent so you're at maximum speed just as you go over the target - and THEN hit boost to avoid crashing (because the minute you hit boost you're probably gonna lose all that lovely speed).Ta. Yep, with my fully engineered Viper 3, iEagle and iCourier, this worked beautifully. With my E-rated Sidey it was a recipe for suicide.P.S. this probably requires some pretty decent (engineered?) thrusters tho' to effectively counter the gravity and push you back upwards again.
