Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Ok something newish (i guess)
Assuming the upcomming pack will be south america focused and it’s not the last, what kinda pack do you think should come after that?
I feel like after SA we could go for a coastal theme. Great opportunity for birds and going around the world.

We’ve gotten so many Asian primates recently I still don’t get why some want the next one to be yet again, from Asia. Siamang, Proboscis Monkey, Lar Gibbon, all of them are from Asia - none from Africa unless you count the free anniversary lemur which I don’t cause it’s a lemur. Time after time Asia gets really interesting primates (golden monkey won’t count in this if he gets in) why Africa can’t get this treatment at least once I have no idea - unless they are saving him for last which god I hope so.

The Sloth Bear fur has gotta be a hint to the fluffiness of the baboon - right? It looks so similar just even more fluffy.

An around the world pack assuming is the last one, featuring whatever species from SA that don't make it into the what i assume would be a scenery pack if it is Indeed not the last one and a Focus on África most likely.

Just because Frontier is going to chose weirdly specific from the viewpoint of pop-culture hamadryas over generic fodder savannah baboon such as this one:

Id be fine with them aswell. Mostly prefer hama and gelada because they provide a mountain animal for africa instead of another savanah one and look a little more interesting.
But any baboon is a great addition in my book

Some type of wrap up/finale type of pack, as I can't imagine we'lll be so lucky to get 2 more packs after this next one. If I'm wrong though, I'd go with something boreal/North America focused.

This almost certainly isn't happening, but could be an upcoming Central American Scenery pack, next being a Boreal/North American Scenery pack, and then a final pack with somewhere between 8-13 animals (thinking the combined size of a scenery and animal pack roster, minus the scenery).

More likely, Latin Amerca Animal pack for this next one, and then a 13 animal finale/wrap up pack for the next one, possibly as late as November even. Oh look 8+13, that gives us 21 more animals. or "over 200" total. ;)

Baboons generally can be found in mountainous areas. Gelada and hamadryas arent really special in this regard. I'm sure there are even few places in Ethiopia where all 3 species can be found in one place.

Honestly if we had to get another NA pack I would prefer the focus being on the Sonoran desert with Mexican theming. Outside of a bird and two mammal exceptions (ABB or Sea otter) I don’t really care for more NA animals to represent the temperate/ taiga/ boreal. To be honest if we didn’t get the ABB or sea otter I wouldn’t be too upset, we have a lot of great mammals for NA.

For fun this would be my theme:

🤠 Wild West pack 🏜️
  1. Black tailed jackrabbit (I know what I said about mammals, but we could use a rabbit and tbh I want this over a coyote)
  2. White nosed coati
  3. Greater roadrunner
  4. Burrowing owl
  5. Exhibit: Colorado river toad (I was thinking the collard lizard but with the Gila monster, scorpion, snake, and spider, I think there could be an amphibian)

The pieces would be wildwest/ Mexican themed:

I was thinking the animal statues could be based on the Alebrijes:

would make for some cool themed statues!

We could also get some other generic props for Mexico/ the Wild West
So adding these guys you can make a very realistic NA desert area:
  1. Jackrabbit (new)
  2. Coati (new)
  3. Roadrunner (new)
  4. Owl (new)
  5. Peccary
  6. Prairie dog
  7. Armadillo
  8. Cougar
  9. Jaguar
  10. Pronghorn
  11. Bison
  12. River toad (new)
  13. Rattlesnake
  14. Scorpion
  15. Tarantula
  16. Gila monster
Bonus: if I could get them in somehow, I really want gambels quail:

Saying the quiet part out loud.
It's not the quiet part if you're part of the labour force. For workers there should be no quiet part at all (that's especially true for the Americans, they get the rawest deal in the western world).

But anyway. A lot of the notions that "there are infinite possibilities" for the game or that "Frontier could still do X, Y, Z" are extremely naive and seem based on the idea that Frontier wants/needs to retain us as "loyal consumers". They do not. I'm sure there are individual people within Frontier (assuming they haven't been laid off) who really love PZ and would be thrilled to keep pumping out new content for it regardless of whether it makes any money, but as a whole, the business demands change.

It's not pessimism or cynicism to say so. It's simply the reality of the business world.

I've always liked both, also played both rollercoaster tycoon & zoo tycoon. Have a slight preferance for the zoo games because as a child I always went to the zoo every year. But now as an adult I still have a friend group that goes to coaster parks on a yearly basis. My main concern with the new game is if it's something else without animals or coasters. Then it's the question if I would be interested in that game.
If a new planet game is releasing I would love a planet golf designing mini golf courses would be so fun.

TBH say what you will about them, I don’t know how Nintendo seems to be the only video game company that understands to treat their staff well. Not that they don’t get overworked, but they have a huge retaining rate in between games. I know if the company does poorly higher-up’s will get paycuts before layoffs happen.

Business ethics seems to be a dying mindset.
I think its largely because they are not a western company which a majority of major video gaming companies are.

The big Frontier Steam sale is ending today and player counts are higher than they've been since last April and fully without a DLC release. This week would be a prime time to announce something TBH.
I agree, plus all the console stuff on their socials seems covered, they did the reviews trailer and asked all the basic questions like what people have done on console so far, this week could finally be it 🙏
