Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

It's been done, but it's by far not the main way birds of prey are exhibited. It also offers zero options for actually constructing aviaries (which is why I simply don't think we'll get larger flying birds at all)

Since this will be a scenery pack, I am really hoping for a modern theme to bring in more modern pieces, that is my only wish. I'm really in need of more modern pieces.

Modern Singapore would be a great theme
  • Door handles, gate handles, door knobs, pull handles
  • Locks, Padlocks, bolts, deadlocks, latches
  • Hooks, brackets, rollers, (as small as the 'new world decorative lights bracket')
  • Basins and sinks
  • More modular metal pieces
  • More mesh panel piece variants (brushed metal, galvanised square 4mm mesh, rectangular wire mesh)
  • Metal running brackets and support brackets (For guillotine and sliding access doors)
  • Door mechanisms (used to open/close doors for dangerous animals in zoos)
  • Feeding sliding panels (the size of memorial wall plaques)
  • More brushed and painted metal beams and poles in sizes being as thin as the ropes and thick as the plaster blocks
  • Brushed metal wall panels and sheets
  • Tiled floor and wall pieces (large modern tile styles like stone, ceramic etc (50x50cm, 50cmx1m,1x1m, 1x2m, 2x2, 2x4,4x4,4x8))
  • Modern brick wall styles
  • Marble pieces
  • More decals of gratings, wall imperfections, moss, mud, footprints, miscellaneous flat shapes (square, triangle, circle, lines, diamond)
  • Mesh doors (like those found in zoos backstage)
  • Decorative pieces in the existing facilities as seperate decorative pieces
  • Plushies and miniature animal decor shapes
  • Metal fountains
  • Office chairs, single seating chairs of modern design
  • Levers, buttons, pulleys
  • Sliding feeder doors, feed chutes for backstage
  • Special effects magma bubbles, lava sprays, lava eruption, lava smoke, ash fall, fire, embers, insects and bees flying clusters, flowing water, waves, ripples
  • Dirt and mudbank edging
  • Pyroclastic rocks, pebbles, basalt rocks, porous rocks
  • Moss decals and moss foliage
  • Borderless version of mud bath enrichment
  • Dust/dirt/sand bath enrichment (for ungulates, carnivores and elephants)
  • More decayed/fallen tree log varieties
  • Desert, snow, taiga, water, marsh, plains versions of the rainforest mural decoration pieces
  • Marsh roots varieties (similar to the first root selection in-game
  • Exhibit sized plants and props
  • Modern auto filling water troughs and modern stock feeders for animal habitats

Do people think birds of prey just randomly attack people?
Depends on the bird of prey.

Owls, vultures and hawks? definitely not, neither are aggressive and in some cases not even capable of hurting humans.

eagles? Depends, multiple eagles are know to attack humans (harpys, buzzards, golden eagles etc) and the african crowned eagle is the only modern bird that eat a person at some point. While others like bald are quite shy.

(It's not like frontier will add flying bird of prey anyway)

I mean, they're not going to add flying birds at all, so it's a moot point, but our current walkthrough exhibit animals are fast-fliers (bats, butterflies) and slow-sitters (sloths). Small birds would fit the former and birds of prey would fit the latter. Birds of prey don't do much of anything inside of aviaries unless they need to. They spend the majority of their time perched, watching. Food arrives, and they give a few lazy flaps to go down and eat it. Then they sit pretty again. Occasionally they'll interact with one another.

They're kind of perfect for the WTE. They would do barely any more than the sloth does.

Tbh small aviaries are no longer fit for modern standards. Birds of prey avuaries nowadays tend to be huge.

Oh wow that's cool. It makes some sense considering that they may have lived in colder climates at some point. I just wonder how reliable it is: i.e. does every red wolf have a bigger tail than the average Indian wolf's tail?
Oh, sorry. That Image was unreliable.
Red Wolves are more furry.

240m2 as I recently learnt
Yeah the regular exhibit barely qualifies as a "small" aviary.

Edit: I also think people find it hard to picture the size of the animals in question. Something like the Eurasian eagle owl would not be crammed into the WTE; though they are the largest of the owls, compared to a human they're not that gigantic. Same with the Andean condor.

Not necessarily. I'm not saying birds are coming, but we all thought that bats and sloths weren't ever going to come.
And now we have 2 bats and a controversial sloth
Just controversial by us. I somehow cannot imagine that the sloth is in any case controversial for the common player. I think the majority is just happy we got a Sloth in the end.

Edit: But yes, never say never. The bat was a typical choice for Frontier reusing a unique rig a second time (and I can fully understand this working).

We've had bats, butterflies, and a sloth, and no birds. I won't get into this argument again, but IMO support is going to end without flying birds ever making it into the game.

Frontier outright decided to went back to the default exhibit in the arid pack just to avoid putting birds in WE.
If this is not a "screw birds" i honestly don't know what is.

Side note: i actually believe they are coming... in the last pack, just to Frontier ask more money for it, so be prepared for a macaw (or 4) and nothing more.

Tbh the Arid pack screamed for a regular exhibit animal... though a chameleon or cobra would've been better.

If there was a pack they literally avoided birds in the WTE was Oceania. My hope for flying birds was completly destroyed after Oceania.

It might reignite with a Latin America pack lol
