Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Note to Frontier...
IDK what the PAID DLCs are (just so long as they add good variety!)...
I'm just as a lover of Canids, desperate for new Canidae content... And I'm sure a decent proportion of your other consumers are too. So please consider adding new colormorphs for canids?
  • Safari (More variations for African Wild Dogs)
  • Latin America (Melanistic Maned Wolf)
  • Alpine (Maybe a brindle dingo?)
  • Tundra (a new color to represent the summer form of Arctic Fox)
  • Far East (different markings on the dhole)
Pretty much the only DLC theme I could think of that wouldn't have potential for a new variety is Amazon...

I think the next will be a Latin America pack, then a rainforest animal pack With 3-4 SA animals, then a Mountains Scenery pack With Spectacled bear and in December 2024 the last pack with scenery + 13 animals (scenerypack+animalpack)

Note to Frontier...

I've been hoping for the dingo to get their cream and black-with-brown-feet morphs for a while, but I feel like Oceania should've been the time for it to happen and they instead honed in on the penguin. Oh well. Like these two fellas right here:

It would add a lot to what is an unfortunately overlooked animal

As much as I want them (easily my most wanted colourmorphs), I doubt we'll see them given that the long disproven notion that these colours are a product of hybridisation with domestic dogs is included in the dingo's zoopedia entry. They're still missing chorus behaviour too. At least they finally gave them their proper biome tags.

I predict we'll at least see 2 dlcs next year, but I think we'll get another year if they don't have a major planet game release for next year. (Remember Frontier has shown a pattern of bigger pricier dlc's for their last dlcs on a game (Planet Coaster, JWE1)

If it's 2:

Latin America Pack:

Spectacled Bear
Howler Monkey/ Spider Monkey
Coati/ Patagonian Mara
Tamandua/ Ocelot
Ex: Two-Toed Sloth

Latin American Scenery

Avian Expansion Pack:

Secretary Bird
Shoebill
Grey Crowned Crane
Greater Rhea
Burrowing Owl
Greater Roadrunner
Wild Turkey / Ocellated Turkey
WE:
Macaws
Vulture Species
Eagle Species
Rainbow Lorikeet
Toucan
Condor?

Aviary Build set

If it's a full year (Which I think it is if there's no release) then I think you can add:

Coastal Pack:

Sea Otter
Walrus
Pelican Species
Green Sea Turtle (My personal hope)
WE: Coconut Crab/ Puffins
Scenery: More Aquaria-style buildings with a touch of Pacific Northwest Native American architecture

Anniversary animal: American Black Bear/ American Flamingo

Forests Animal Pack:

Reeve's Muntjac/ Tufted Deer
Tree Kangaroo
Tanuki
New World Monkey
Black and White Colobus
Giant Squirrel
Mandarin Duck?
Ex: King Cobra?

Tried to see if I can fit a Baboon or Musk Ox with these themes but I couldn't unfortunately

Time for me to jump in the line
Sorry for a long post but here’s my opinion/roadmap/future thoughts for PZ 24 and beyond
I could see Americas getting attention sooner then later due to their lack of attention in 23
I was hoping biome dlcs would have continued as I like the worldwide rosters we were getting. That certainly came to a halt this year with Arid really being an African dlc.
With regional dlcs this year, I wonder if that is going to be their new theme in the future or if they will have a different formula for 2024. If that’s the case then I think Central America, India, and Australasia could get an animal dlc.

now for animals that can appear

Primates: If frontier keeps their pattern of 1 primate per year then we should expect one sooner then later. Just hope the one they pick is one that is high demand as the community is losing their minds over which monkey should be prioritized.
Canids: we got 0 in 2023 which upset me. I know many of you don’t want anymore canids but I want more. Golden jackals, coyotes and bush dogs and maybe red wolves would be a nice wrap up for canids (in that order).
Ursine: glad frontier didn’t forget about bears, really want the Andean Bear over sloth bear but Il be patient.
Birds: I’m losing hope on getting aviarys. I’d like to get ground birds such as rheas and Capercailles. The mute swan is a nice surprise, I think this will be the foundation for future waterfowl so I can realistically see Muscovy ducks and others finding their way into the game.
Felines: I’m liking the fact that we are getting new tiger colormorphs. When it comes to big cats, I got all the big cats I want, regardless I will welcome more. I have had more interest in small cats such as the Pallas cat and the fishing cat. We have had a past of getting 2 or 3 per year and this year only got the sand cat.
Exhibits: I really want mini dlcs that give us 4 exhibit animals. I’ve talked about this many times and people continue to misread what I say so I have to reexplain it: a mini dlc that is placed in between the time slots of our recurring seasonal dlcs, they do not take away a big dlc slot so example march, June, September and December remain our dlcs and say April, July, October and January we get these mini dlcs.
WE felt disappointing this year, while the flying foxes are nice, I never had any desire for sloths and hope that’s the only sloth we ever get. I have been hoping we get songbirds, huming birds if frontier will let us have any small birds. A lot of people have said bald eagles and other birds of prey for WEs, as someone who has worked with raptors I can tell you that is an unbelievably dangerous idea. My hope is that WEs will give us ponds such as turtle ponds and koi ponds with sets of 5. Guests can walk on a bridge over these ponds and potentially feed the koi.

Features: After the reveal of souvenir shops, I found hope that we will see some fun attractions in the future. I’d like a gazebo or a small stage for bands to play at our zoos. Splash pads, playgrounds and carousels would be a nice addition. I ultimately don’t know how I feel about petting zoos, like the idea but I don’t want the petting zoo animals to take the place of the many animals we are still hoping for. Maybe if you can customize an area to have chickens, cows, goats etc that you can buy but not in the same way as adopting animals on the market.

Finally when it comes to the other animals on the meta wishlist, after SA I think remaining highly requested animals would have to be in random dlcs rather then region dedicated.
Here’s to a fun 2024

All I’m really dying for at this point is Latin America, which I’m willing to wait until summer for if it means getting a full animal pack. South America is in too much of a dire state to only have five animals in a scenery pack (nor to share an Americas animal pack with NA for that matter).

Coastal Pack:

Sea Otter
Walrus
Pelican Species
Green Sea Turtle (My personal hope)
WE: Coconut Crab/ Puffins
Scenery: More Aquaria-style buildings with a touch of Pacific Northwest Native American architecture

Something like this would actually go so hard though. A coastal pack feels plausible whilst also being desirable. Personally I feel like the sea turtle would feel very out of place without the fully aquatic species they’re so often mixed with, though that might just be me. The often requested combo of a walrus and a sea otter, combined with a pelican and maybe some oddball shorebird like a pied avocet would be amazing. If Frontier isn’t willing to do flying birds in the WE for whatever reason, than an exhibit box crustacean would at least be a very unique surprise from the usual reptiles.

I'm trying to craft DLC ideas for a year in my head, and would "Safari" Scenery pack work? As in what Scenery could go along with African Savannah theme that's not already in game?
I think Safari would fit as a theme, like more thatch walls and stuff. I mean, the Africa theme in game looks more South African to me so perhaps we could probe more into East Africa ?

It is so i hope Frontier makes the right choice or that if we get a scenery pack for central américa we then get an animal pack for SA or at least more SA animals in other packs.
As long as we get more south america animals later im ok with a scenery pack if it means they can take their time and make higher difficulty animals such as maybe the Andean porcupine without sacrificing the rest of the roster to the ungulate gods. I would love to see more smaller ground birds such as tinnamous or trumpeter birds birds that can fly but not well.

That is Not the way how it works I would say. If there are two packs for Central America and South America you will get possibly a Maximum of 3-4 unique rigs alongside 7-8 more "Clone" Like species.

Edit: And I am pretty sure that about 90-95 per Cent of the animals coming within the next 2 DLCs (If we get which I think) are already planned.

100% it was confirmed I think around the aquatic pack that the do infact work on a pack longer than the 3 months inbetween packs. I would say that the next 2 pack are already planed with at least the first one already being worked on so honestly be the time we start speculating its already set in stone what we are going to get and any speculation we do wont inform packs until at least 2 in the future.
