Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

u're forgetting the potential ducks and geese and even general fowl we could get😉
No I didnt
To me twilight is clearly NA. The pack is clearly about Halloween and thats only really a thing in NA.
you mean the holiday stolen from european pagans. Also the scenery isnt just halloween but general spooky european castle how many castles does america have to make that theme make sense

They have plenty castles! They are just uh a bit commercial

Well, probably the next DLC is gonna be a scenery, so I think that is better to make a Mountain Pack than a Pack about latin america or Amazon which needs more animals than construction pieces. This Eurasian dlc covered some "Mountains animals" that the pz community wanted, now It is easy to complete the list of requested animals with a Scenery dlc:

  • Markhor
  • Gelada
  • Spectacled Bear
  • Pallas' Cat
  • Giant chinese salamander
That's the perfect roster for me. I would even replace the gelada with a pheasant. But i like the inclusion of the spectacled bear in this pack because it opens the slot for another animal in a possible LAM pack.
Ok here's a question. These are all the south american animals in the top 100 of @random goat meta-wishlist:
  1. South american coati
  2. Black howler monkey
  3. Golden lion tamarin
  4. Ocelot
  5. Spectacled bear
  6. Patagonian mara
  7. Greater rhea
  8. Southern tamandua
  9. Spider monkey
  10. Squirrel monkey
  11. Bush dog
  12. Kinkajou
  13. Scarlet Ijis
  14. Roseate spoonbill
  15. Giant armadillo
  16. White nosed coati
  17. Three-banded armadillo
  18. Cotton-top tamarin
  19. Common marmoset
  20. Southern pudu
  21. Azara's agouti
If we get a Latin America Animal Pack, and these 7 animals are the only 7 south american animals to still make it into the game, which 7 do you pick? And why?

1. South american coati: i prefer this one to the white nosed coati since i've seen them irl, in zoos and they have a wide rango across SA. They are the species native to my country. They are cute and funny and would add a carnivore that is neither a cat nor a dog, climbs trees and is very social. So like the fossa of SouthAmerica but friendlier.

2. Ocelot: we need a small SA cat. There a lot of species in the continent and a lot of them live in the jungles and tropical forests. Ocelots are key predators, well know, common in captivity and recently i learned there is a reintroduction proyect going on in my country to getting them back to their older range. So i really want them.

3. Howler monkey: i prefer this one to the spider monkey but i'll take both please. Thank you. Once again an animal that is native to my country, common in the wild and in zoos. It will also benefit from the chorus behaviour and has great sexual dimorphism (well the species i want at least).

4. Greater rhea: should be number one in this list. A very, very common sight through-out SA, specially here in Argentina. Extremely common in captivity, it is even bred for comercial uses of their feathers. Would add an animal to represent Patagonia (finally). It is also the one ratite missing from the game. And would have a lot of interspecies enrichments since it can be mixed with pretty much anything.

5. Patagonian mara: very docile rodent. Terrestrial cousin of the capybara. Once again extremely common in captivity here, even as free roaming and petting zoo /walkthrough animal in zoos. Another very unique, large rodent that also represents the grasslands and deserts of the pampas and Patagonia regions. One of my most wanted animals. Just like the rhea would be perfect for mixed species habitats.

6. Spectacled bear: is the only South american bear. Unique in the fact that is the only living member / descendant of the exctinct short face bears. It would give representation to the subtropical and tropical Andes mountains. Even though a highlands animal it inhabits humid forests. Would be great for clouded forests indoor houses as well. Very distinctive looks as well. Cute face markings that if they come with enough variation would be cool for giving more individuality to watch animal.

7. Golden lion tamarin: a popular and stunning looking small primate that is also endangered. Fits the theme of conservation that the game has been pushing for (even to extremes... Cough saiga and wisent cough). I think they could work as habitat animals and they would be easier to make than the spider monkey. I was tempted to choose a tropical bird because those are actually my preference but i see them both (Scarlet ibis and roseate spoonbill) fitting in other themes (like Caribbean and central américa). Another primate would be equally valuable for SA Rep and the GLT is only found in SA so they win.

Not in this list but both burrowing owl (to.mix with the cavys) and South American tapirs are also among my most wanted SA animals.

And if the spectacled bear comes with a mountains DLC i guess that opens the possibility for any of the animals i mentioned that i left out.

The spring pack is honestly the hardest to predict. We've had a recent trend of DLCs focusing on regions again. Africa, Australia, Asia + Europe, the logical guess based on this pattern would be something in the America's, preferably South America.
However one could argue it is in need of an animal pack, which I don't really care if its scenery or animal, I think I'll be pretty happy either way.

But on the other hand, they could take advantage of the Meta Wishlist and do what I personally feel is an underated pack idea, a Coastal Pack, a biome pack disguised as a NA region pack. A blend of Aquatic, NA, and Arctic in one.
Walrus (seal rig), Pelican (swan rig), Atlantic Puffin (new rig for the pack) and the Sea Otter (otter rig).

I agree is an underrated pack idea. And that would be My ideal roster.

And while everyone (myself included) were screaming DUCK when we got the swan it ocurred to me that the rig would be a great base for a pelican! So now i'm excited about that idea.
