Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

My thoughts. I prefer a less versatile but more "spectacular" animal. I mean if you want a species only because it's easy to place, then I don't really see the point of having it anymore. Let me be clear, I would accept any kind of bird but the justification of "It's not common in zoos" or "They do not represent this continent the best" is something I can't understand. I like to have a mix of common and "more special" species. So yeah, I'm rooting for secretary and shoebill too.

Not saying your wrong, but i bet you feel real dumb rn saying that the common birds are lame when these first 5 are all very much very common birds.
Even the shoebill isnt that rare its just that its history in captivity has been quite the detrament to species survival due to next to no breeding success and wildlife trafficking to sell shoebills to zoos with less then great moral makeup.

Common animals =/= boring animals.
All 6 of these are spectacular birds in their own way, saying one of them is more special for being rare in captivity might not be objectivly wrong, but saying the rest are for being common might aswell be.

Frontier should take note of that list, throw in a Turkey and Scarlet Ibis and just not have an exhibit animal. (highly highly unlikely, I know).

So I wonder, hypothetically if they did do an all habitat bird pack, how much work would be involved with the various birds? I realize it would definitely depend on the species, but we have a starting point for some. As varied as birds are, the ones we're considering would be good for habitat animals would have much less variance of shape between them - ie, Cranes somewhat resemble herons, storks, and Ibises sort of thing.

In an ideal world, we'd have all six of these guys + guineafowl. Africa's got some of the best ground birds in my opinion.

Agreed, and then there’s Asia with the most iconic pheasants and tragopans.

My #1 bird is the lesser adjutant stork, an absolutely stunning bird from tropical Asia. Doubt we’ll see it in the game (as awesome as it would be to mix with water buffalo) but something from the universe of Himalayan monal, satyr tragopan or golden pheasant seems necessary for non-tropical Asia IMO.

North America too has a spectacular ground bird in the greater sage-grouse that I think is rarely discussed more because it is so rare in captivity, but that’d be a nice saiga-type of oddball with a conservation story.

If someone would have messured my brain waves while reading this post and looking at the pictures, the sudden drop with the last two birds would have been extremly noticeable :ROFLMAO: It felt funny, even.
But no one is "dumb" for saying comon birds are lame. It's all just opinion and personal preferences. Lets not get personal again and attack each other wishes.

Let me be clear, I don't find any of those birds boring or lame and I didn't even used that word. I just said some were more common. I like them all and jeez I would be in heaven if we got all of them in game. I was just answering to someone who said that Shoebill and Secretary bird are more difficult to place in game because less versatile and also less present in zoos compared to Marabou Stork or Grey Crowned Crane, justifying why he prefered to have the 2 last ones (and I'm pretty sure himself would want all of those birds in game too, after all we're all animal lovers here I guess). The point of my comment was just to say that the fact that a species is less common in zoo or is less versatile is not an argument to forget about them. I LOVE Shoebill and Secretary, I'm obsessed with them adn I want them in the game.
As for the use of the word "spectacular", maybe it wasn't the best word (I mean English is not my mother tongue) but it kinda reflects the way I feel. Shoebill and Secretary are more appealing to me. Pelicans too but I wasn't considering it in the discussion before.

Anyway, peace & love, I want all of them and I would take good care of them if they were in my zoo.

Of course, same way I didn't try to attack you based on your other comment. I was just trying to defend my sweet shoebill 😅

As much as I want the Secretary Bird, Hamadryas Baboon, African Spurred Tortoise and etc... I feel like the next dlc got to be South/Latin America representation Pack. those animals are right now MUST- We need so badly the Coati, The Black Howler Monkey, The Spider Monkey, The Squirrel Monkey, Tamandua, Spectacled bear (I don't give a d*mn that we just got a bear), Green Anaconda, Two Toed Sloth and I can go on and on... South America is must to be the next continent representation.

Btw I have a theory that in the next dlc we going to see another Walkthrough Exhibit animal. Because in 2023, with Tropical Pack we got the Three-Toed Sloth as a Walkthrough Exhibit Animal. then in Arid we got the Desert Horned Viper as a regular exhibit animals, and then with Oceania we got the Spectacled Flying Fox as a Walkthrough Exhibit Animal, and now we got the Hermann's Tortoise as a Regular Exhibit Animal. So it's looking like frontier going with pattern of one Regular Exhibit Animal and one Walkthrough Exhibit Animal. (If it's not a bird It's better be the Two-Toed Sloth).

Also, do we think that frontier gonna switch that next dlc will be another Animal Pack, as they did with Twilight or it's gonna be a Scenery Pack?

Yeah switching it so that a scenery pack would fall onto fall was the only way to make a Halloween Pack.
Idk unless there is no way around it another switch doesnt seem very likely to me. I mean if there is no dire need for a scenery pack to be released in june for example i dont see a reason to not just way 3 months

If they do switch it up and we do get two animal packs back to back, it wll be an absolute travesty if it’s anything besides Latin America. I would also say a habitat bird or primate pack but I don’t really think we’d get something like that. I would be fine with either though.

Yeah, probably.. but just what other scenery packs they can do? unless it's like zoo focused scenery which it would be AMAZING
Scenery pack falling on spring? Hopes for a petting zoo are higher than a south america pack. When I look at scenery packs and animal packs, for every animal roster we can come up with, there is surely an accompanying scenery set due to the wide range frontier likes to pick from. Architecture not touched, zoo oriented items, seasonal theming etc leaves a lot of possibilities.
